Before you marry a pastor ❤️

Marrying a pastor is not just marrying a man—it is also embracing a calling. Ministry affects the home, the schedule, the priorities, and even the privacy of the family. That is why it is important to understand what it truly means before saying “I do.”

1. You are marrying his calling, not just his personality.
A pastor’s life revolves around God’s work. There will be late-night calls, counseling, emergencies, and ministry responsibilities.
2 Timothy 4:2 – “Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season…”

2. Your home will often be in the spotlight.
People will observe how you act, speak, and live. Your life will be a testimony to others.
1 Timothy 3:7 – “Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without…”

3. You must be spiritually prepared.
A pastor’s wife is not just a title. She is a partner in prayer, encouragement, and service.
Ecclesiastes 4:9 – “Two are better than one…”

4. There will be sacrifices.
There may be financial limitations, less privacy, and many responsibilities. But there is also deep joy in serving the Lord together.
Matthew 6:33 – “But seek ye first the kingdom of God…”

5. Your relationship with God must come first.
You cannot rely on your husband’s faith. You must have your own personal walk with the Lord.
Philippians 2:12 – “…work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.”

Don’t marry a pastor just because you love the man. Marry him because you are also willing to love the ministry, the people, and the calling that comes with his life. When both husband and wife are surrendered to God, their marriage becomes a powerful testimony for Christ.

There are forces that don’t want you to take new ground. When the enemy sees you start to make progress, he’ll send the storm, the waves, the winds. But that’s when God will step up and say, “Peace be still.” The storm can’t stop our God; He controls the winds. What’s come against you is not a sign that you’re stuck; it’s a sign that promotion is coming. The storm is a sign that God is close to the shore. You’re about to see things change in your favor.

ARE YOU TRULY SERVING GOD?
_________

Serving God does not always mean that you are serving God's people— because serving God's people does not always mean you are serving God.Serving God is serving God's will and supporting His agenda.

God has to be your master and not the people. There are times when everyone might be against you— and yet God will be for you.

Stop trying to make people happy at the expense of your relationship with God!

*PRAY FOR THOSE IN AUTHORITY*

Scripture Reading: 1 Timothy 2

Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. 1 Timothy 2:1–2

A vital aspect of this prayer for the church’s mission is prayer for the state. Paul’s passionate appeal for supplications, prayer, intercession, and thanksgiving is narrowed down to also include everyone in civil or governmental authority.

The scriptures encourage the church to respect state rulers and to submit to the institutions of the state. We must fulfill our legitimate obligations to the state such as paying taxes, and honouring the rule of law.

Why does Paul make this appeal?

1. God works with civil authorities. There is the tendency for Christians to not pray for their civil leaders, especially when these leaders are openly hostile. But Paul admonishes Christians on the important fact that whether these civil leaders are perverted or not, they must be the subject of our prayer.

2. The intercession of believers can provide the needed spiritual impetus for a civil leader to rule peaceably. Paul’s words imply that Christians must pray that their leaders will have the knowledge needed to guide them in their duties.

3. Prayer can help steer rulers to provide sound, solid leadership to accomplish godly goals. Christians must not only pray for the conversion of their leaders, but also for the quality of their governance. The prayers include thanksgiving for those decisions that facilitate the spread of Christianity and requests for wisdom in making important decisions.

*Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for the leaders of our world. Use them to work out your purposes on earth. In Jesus’ name, Amen!*
