“To show, with unwavering faith and certain hope, love toward our neighbour, and thus prove our love of God, is and shall be our highest joy.”

Statement of Welcome and Inclusion:

Covenant Mennonite Church is a congregation of seekers on a journey of faith. Rooted in the Anabaptist Mennonite tradition, we are committed to growing together as a safe, loving, inclusive, and diverse community of Christian faith, and to removing barriers to fellowship. We endeavour to live out Romans 15:7: “Welcome one another just as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.”

We believe that each of us is made in the image of God, including those of every ethnicity, colour, income, physical or mental ability, gender identity, sexual orientation, or marital status. We welcome all persons to journey with us in worshipping God and seeking to know and follow Jesus Christ together.

Guided by the Holy Spirit, Christian Scripture, and the “Confession of Faith In A Mennonite Perspective,” we acknowledge our different understandings yet strive to live together as a community of love. In our diversity, we gather at the Lord’s Table to celebrate our unity in Christ.

The first hymn in our Voices Together hymn book says:
“Summoned by the God who made us
Rich in our diversity,
Gathered in the name of Jesus,
Richer still in unity:

Let us bring the gifts that differ
And, in splendid, varied ways,
Sing a new church into being,
One of faith and love and praise”

As the song says, so beautifully, we at Covenant gather together as a diverse group, seeking God in this journey of faith, hoping to continue the work of God’s Kingdom here on earth.
As we welcome Pastor Kevin back from his sabbatical, we look forward to hearing from him about what he learned in his time away. His sermons this month will be inspired by the book, Let Your Life Speak by Parker J. Palmer.

At the end of the month, we will have our annual outdoor service and picnic lunch. Stay tuned for more details in the bulletin.

If you want to listen to past sermons, you can check them out on the website or podcast. We are glad you are here!
