Recapture the Joy of Christmas at Christmas on the Peninsula! So many of us wish we could recapture the joy of long ago Christmas when the spirit of Christmas was embraced and celebrated. With Christmas on the Peninsula, the spirit of Christmas is alive and well on the Peninsula! Christmas on the Peninsula is presented by the non-profit Christmas on the Peninsula Society to kick start the Christma

s season celebration. Christmas on the Peninsula is a special one day festival followed by a month of celebratory activities at local churches and businesses that bring together community groups, friends in faith, and local merchants in an effort to give Peninsula residents and visitors alike the opportunity to experience the holiday season in the traditional manner of European villages. In European villages, people would walk about town, meet their neighbors, decorate their houses and stores, view Christmas displays in shop windows, create holiday arts and crafts, buy gifts and goodies, sing along with carolers, listen to live music and Christmas stories, munch on special treats, join Christmas parades, and light the Christmas tree in village center. The annual Christmas on the Peninsula takes place the last Saturday of November at the White Rock Community Center, and many other locations in up-town White Rock. Please check www.christmasonthepeninsula.com for venues, schedules and participants. Everyone is welcome to this activity and excitement packed community event.

Dear friends, We’d like to share some updates with you about what has happened recently and what’s coming up for the Christmas on the Peninsula Festival.
* Annual General Meeting Update – June 18
At our Annual General Meeting on June 18, we bid a heartfelt farewell to two of our directors, Judy Calder and Brian Walks, as they step down due to health reasons. We are deeply grateful for their dedicated service and many contributions over the years. We sincerely hope they will continue to be involved as volunteers at the festival.
We are pleased to announce the continuation of our executive team:
* Barb Walks will remain as Secretary
* Annie de Bruin will continue as Treasurer
* Liv Butow will serve another term as President
We also warmly welcome three new directors to our board: Victoria Jefferies, Judy Forster, and Ben Sears — all of whom bring valuable experience and a strong history of involvement with the Christmas on the Peninsula Festival.
* Victoria Jefferies previously served as our Treasurer and Activities Manager. Recently retired from BMO, where she was our account manager, Victoria also brings a rich background with the Salvation Army.
* Judy Forster, former Mayor of White Rock, has supported our society in various ways since its inception, often through her involvement with St. John's Presbyterian Church.
* Ben Sears has been a key part of the Christmas Story section of our parade and is actively engaged in the development of the new Catholic secondary school, as a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church. He also runs his own oven business.
We’re excited for the future and grateful for the continued support of our dedicated team and community.
