At Alongside Hope, we’ve seen how access to clean and reliable solar energy can transform communities. Now, we’re bringing that same light to maternity wards in Mozambique.

So, what exactly is a solar suitcase? A solar suitcase is a portable solar-powered system that provides lighting and electricity for essential medical equipment. In a maternity ward, that can make a huge difference when a mother is giving birth and the power goes out.

Through the Light for Mozambique campaign, we’re raising funds to provide solar suitcases to maternity wards across Mozambique. Because every mother deserves to give birth with access to the light and care she needs.

Nepal is still in crisis. And your support matters.

Nearly one month after a devastating glacier collapse triggered catastrophic flash floods in Nepal on August 26, the scale of the destruction is becoming clearer.

At least 1,400 people have lost their lives, and thousands remain missing. Entire communities have been buried under mud and debris, while homes, roads, bridges and essential infrastructure have been destroyed.

For survivors, the crisis is far from over. Families are searching for loved ones, and communities are beginning the difficult work of rebuilding. Your donation can help provide essential relief and support communities as they recover.

On June 24, 2026, two devastating back‑to‑back earthquakes struck Venezuela — the strongest in more than a century. Hundreds have been killed with thousands injured. Many more are still believed to still be trapped under the rubble from the destruction.

Alongside Hope is responding through our membership in the Canadian Foodgrains Bank, part of the Humanitarian Coalition/ Coalition Humanitaire, to provide urgent food relief to families who were already facing severe economic hardship. Nearly 8 million people were in need of humanitarian support before the earthquakes — now, even more are at risk of hunger.

Our emergency appeal runs until July 13, 2026.
