Great News.

We joyfully welcome Bishop Stephen A. Hero of Roman Catholic Diocese of Prince Albert who has been named as our new Archbishop of Edmonton!

A gift from God and a successor of the Apostles, Archbishop-Designate Hero has served as Rector of St. Joseph Seminary and taught at Newman Theological College, forming countless future leaders of the Church.

We pray for a fruitful ministry and assure him of our prayers and support as he begins this new chapter. Welcome home, Your Grace! Ad multos annos!

We are hosting a Turkey/Ham Pot-Luck Supper to officially Welcome Fr. Chad to the Holy Heart Parish. Saturday Dec. 6th at 7pm.

Sign up for Side/Dessert will be at the back of the Church - Please mark down your desired contribution and number of guests attending (so we can get a rough number).

We will also be collecting donations for the Viking Food Bank.

The Catholic community of the Archdiocese of Edmonton extends its sincere congratulations to the new pope chosen to lead our universal Church. We are also grateful for the careful discernment of the College of Cardinals, in particular the Canadian Cardinals, in the election of Robert Francis Cardinal Prevost as Pope Leo XIV

We ask the faithful to pray that the Holy Father will have the spiritual strength, wisdom and humble example as the new shepherd of the Catholic Church. We are confident that he will guide the Church for years to come.

Did you know that there are at least three different saints bearing the name Valentine? All of them gave their lives for Christ!

❤️ St. Valentine of Rome – A priest in the 3rd century who is said to have defied Emperor Claudius II’s marriage ban, secretly officiating weddings of couples in love! He was martyred, beaten and beheaded for his faith.

❤️ St. Valentine of Terni – A bishop who endured scourging, imprisonment, and ex*****on for his devotion to Christ.

❤️ St. Valentine of Africa – A lesser-known martyr who is believed to have suffered for the faith alongside his companions.

Their legacies are of sacrificial love — the love that reflects Christ’s own gift of self for us.

Today, on Valentine's Day, let’s remember that true love isn’t just about fleeting emotions, but a commitment to "lay down one's life for one's friends" (John 15:13). ❤️
