This August, we’re excited to offer a unique opportunity to to receive empowerments and teachings on the nature of mind from Shechen Rabjam Rinpoche, the grandson and spiritual heir of Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche. He will confer a series of abhishekas, transmissions, and teachings over seven days:

1) Public Teaching
Rinpoche will bestow the abhisheka for the Sadhana of Mahamudra. This event—creating an auspicious connection to the Vidyadhara’s dharma transmission in the West—will be open to the public.

2) Scorpion Seal
Rinpoche will confer the abhisheka for the Scorpion Seal Retreat and related transmissions. He is especially qualified to bestow this abhisheka, having received the complete transmission of the Shambhala termas directly from Trungpa Rinpoche in 1982 (as requested by Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche). He is giving the abhisheka in response to a supplication from the Druk Sakyong Wangmo Lady Diana Mukpo.

Join us for a special screening of Harsh Splendour, a documentary that follows 15-year-old Palya Washutsong as she makes a journey now seen to rank among the greatest of history's great escapes.

In 1959, Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche led 300 refugees on a nine-month journey across Tibet to India. Among those following him was the Washutsong family and their daughter Palya.

With music composed and performed by India Gailey and Jeff Reilly, narration by Grant MacLean, Harsh Splendour tells Palya’s story. Through HD satellite images and a flight simulator, we follow the route the refugees took, seeing the towering mountain terrain they crossed and the fearsome weather they faced.

It is a journey to inspire us all.

📆 Friday, May 29, 6:30-8:00pm (reception following the screening)
