Just as He said! Alleluia! Happy Easter to you and your family. In this dark time, we have the hope of new life! Praying for people around the world working on the front line, risking their lives and their family to serve the community. Praying we celebrate the resurrection and life of Christ in our homes and we see the world and our brothers and sisters heal in the Lord’s name.

Our last lesson explored the three kinds of love in a happy marriage. It will help us if we think of them as three parts of a pyramid. The base of the pyramid is Agape love, agape is a Greek word that has two main characteristics: gives and sacrifices for the highest good of another person. 1 Corinthians 13 tells us how agape love expresses itself. Agape love is not just a feeling but a choice of the will. We learn agape love in our homes; God wants you to show unselfish love to other members of your family. Agape love is not blind, it sees the faults of the other person but covers them with love; you don’t try to change the person but accept them and love them no matter what happens. God is the perfect example of agape love; He gave His Son... while we were sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8). Friendship is the warm love and affection we have for good friends, people whom we like and enjoy (same and opposite s*x). To have a successful marriage you need friendship love so you enjoy being together, talking and sharing things with each other. Sexual love is that special, most intimate kind of love between a husband and wife. We should have s*xual love for only one person- our spouse. God created s*xual in*******se as a means for producing children and a source of pleasure, He protects this blessing with forbidding s*xual impurity (fornication, adultery and s*xual sins). Sexual love can never be the foundation for a successful marriage. We need all three kinds of love, in the right order, and built on a solid foundation: God’s love, which makes it all work! I pray you guard yourselves as you seek your spouses; real love is not blind, you don’t have to love someone who is not right for you. Don’t be in a hurry and trust in God’s perfect timing for your life.

Happy Valentine’s Day. Whatever you are going through in life and however you celebrated a day dedicated to love, I pray you know God loves you. Although we do not fully understand the depth of our Lord’s love, we do know from John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life.” May the Lord’s love fill your heart and give you peace and patience as you wait on His perfect timing in your life for true love.

On Friday, our night didn’t go completely as planned. We completed our Valentine’s Day cards for youth without shelter. We adjusted the night when asked for help to set up the hall for our annual book fair. Thank you boys for your time, dedication and effort in our ministry.

Last week we wrote Valentines cards for youth without shelter in Toronto. Praying the message of our Lord’s love is felt and known in any and every situation we find ourselves in. John 3:16, reads: “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

Happy New Year! It was great to be back and see everyone after the break. We had the opportunity to discuss the importance of time management. Budgeting our time can make all the difference to enjoy life and be productive with our days. Scripture says we should use our time in the following ways: we should understand the value of time and gain wisdom (Psalm 90:12), make the most of our time and work hard (Eph. 5:15-16), God desires that we rest on the Sabbath (Exodus 20:8-10), there is a time for everything, we must balance it (Ecc. 3:1-8), accomplish your calling in life and prioritize things accordingly (Eph.4:1). We must learn to manage our time if we are to live lives that are productive and meaningful. Ask yourself: am I spending sufficient time with God in preparation for each day? What things do I do that do not accomplish anything and how can I cut back or eliminate these? What can I add or remove from my schedule that will make each day more focused on eternity? The time God has given us on this earth is a gift from Him, let us use it in a way that pleases Him and brings Him glory!

The third candle of Advent is pink, which was lit on Sunday. The pink candle stands for the joy the Advent season brings. A reminder to pray for the Holy Spirit’s gift of joy in any circumstance that you are in, for the joy of the Lord is our strength. We dedicated Friday to spread Christmas cheer to our Parish’s children’s choir. Thank you for sharing your God given talents to our Parish and for committing your time to your ministry. We hope you enjoy the goodies, may the Lord bless you and continue to strengthen your ministry.
