Mark your calendar and join us at Runnymede United Church as we journey from Palm Sunday to Easter morning together.

During this special time in our church year, we gather in worship to walk through the story of Christ’s crucifixion and resurrection. Most services will be held at our Runnymede campus and online, with our Sunrise Service taking place at Etienne Brulé Park (in-person only). Whether you’ve joined us before or are new to our community, you are warmly welcome. All are welcome.

Last fall, members from seven west‑end United Churches—including Runnymede —came together to form a shared WestEnd Affirm Committee. Our purpose is simple and important: to support one another as we live out our commitment to being affirming, welcoming, and inclusive communities. Our first joint project is a 2SLGBTQ+ film series running from March 3 to May 5, hosted across our participating churches. The series features three powerful films: 1946: The Mistranslation that Shifted Culture, Prayers for Bobby, and Small Town Pride.

Runnymede is not hosting a film, but we encourage anyone interested to attend one or more of the films at a neighbouring church. All screenings are free, with a free‑will offering to help cover costs. Pre‑registration on Eventbrite will be required. We hope you’ll join us, and bring others along, as we learn, listen, and grow together. More information on each film, as well as dates, times and locations are available on the Eventbrite link in our bio.

Our Story

Sunday Worship: Although Runnymede United is no longer having services in the church, we are doing online worship every Sunday morning at 10:30am. Following the regular service we offer a Sunday School Zoom Worship at 11:15am and a Youth Group Zoom Worship 12:30pm. Details for all services will be announced in our Friday email, on our website (www.runnymedeunited.org), and through Facebook/Twitter/Instagram. An added bonus is that if you can’t make the service, a recording will be available on the Runnymede website.

It's a great time to connect faith with everyday life and social responsibilities. All ages are welcome to a relaxed blend of traditional and contemporary service. Sunday School: Runnymede United Church is known for having a long history of active Sunday School programs. RUC Sunday School is run by committed volunteers from parents, students, and other congregation members. Our program is centred on Bible stories containing lessons that can be applied to everyday life, and are taught through storytelling, crafts, games, and more. Children in Kindergarten and up start Sunday mornings in the Sanctuary with their parents, and after Children's Time at the front of the Church, they move to their Sunday School rooms with their designated age group. Parents pick up their children at the class at the end of the Sunday morning church service. Nursery: During Sunday services, our special nursery is available for newborns to toddlers, and is supervised by experienced ECE student volunteers! This room contains age appropriate toys, a change table, extra diapers/wipes, books, swings and a crib, and much more to keep your little ones busy during the service! Youth Group: RUC has programs for youth as well! While developing friendships in a supportive environment, young people in Grades 6 to 12 can explore Christianity. Invite your friends and be part of social outreach programs and other activities! Contact Cayley, our Youth Leader for more information.
