She Gives Highlight:
CBM She Matters Project

This month, we’re highlighting CBM’s support for refugee families through community centres in Lesvos and Cyprus. Many of those receiving care through these initiatives are women and children—often arriving with few resources, carrying trauma, uncertainty, and the weight of displacement.

Through CBM’s partner, these centres offer practical help and relational care: safe space, food, hygiene supplies, emergency relief, psychosocial support, and accompaniment for families navigating transition.

In Lesvos, support meets people at one of Europe’s key entry points for those fleeing conflict and instability. In Cyprus, the community centre creates a place of welcome, rest, restoration, and belonging.

Together, these ministries offer more than aid—they offer dignity, hope, and the reminder that refugee women and families are not alone.

With nearly 30 years in pastoral ministry, Kathy brings a deep well of wisdom, passion for prayer, and a heart for encouraging leaders and mentoring the next generation. She and her husband David have two sons and four grandchildren, and she loves spending time with family, singing, kayaking, hiking, and travelling.
