For generations, Mission Circles were where faith, friendship, and mission came together.

In churches across Ontario and Quebec, women gathered each month to pray, learn about God's work around the world, and faithfully give what they could. Many had little income of their own, yet through small sacrifices and steadfast generosity, they helped support mission in extraordinary ways.

But Mission Circles were about more than raising funds. They were places where women found community, grew in their faith, and mentored the next generation—creating a legacy that continues to shape us today.

As we celebrate 150 years of the Baptist women's movement, we're looking back at the remarkable story of the Mission Circle Movement and the women who faithfully served together.

Have you read our latest newsletter? đź’Ś

Our August newsletter is out, featuring a reflection on what it means to care for ourselves as an act of stewardship, plus upcoming opportunities to join us for The Art of Vinemaking and She Flourishes, a book recommendation, a prayer request for communities affected by flooding and fire, and a She Gives highlight celebrating women building financial stability and hope in the Philippines.

My feed is full of health plans, parenting advice, productivity hacks, meal prep ideas, and a thousand tiny messages suggesting that if I could just wake up earlier, exercise more consistently, pray longer, drink more water, and finally get organized, I'd have my life together.

We often think generosity is about what leaves our hands. But have you noticed how often it changes what's happening in our hearts?

Jesus said, "It is more blessed to give than to receive." Not because giving is always easy, but because generosity draws us into God's own way of loving the world.

As August comes to a close, may you continue to live with open hands—quick to notice a need, ready to offer encouragement, and willing to share what God has entrusted to you. We may never know all the ways a small act of generosity can ripple through someone else's life, but God does.

May your hands be open, your heart be full, and your life point others to the Giver of every good gift.

Late August always feels like standing in a doorway. Summer isn't quite over, but a new season is waiting just around the corner.

It's a good time to ask, "God, what are You inviting me into?"

King David prayed, "Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand."

What a freeing reminder. We don't need to have everything. We simply offer what God has already entrusted to us—our time, our gifts, our resources, our willingness.

As you step toward a new ministry season, may your hands stay open, your heart remain expectant, and your eyes be ready to see what God will do.

Some stories deserve to be remembered.

Dr. Marion Bates believed faith was meant to be lived boldly—not only in our own communities, but around the world. Her leadership helped inspire generations of Baptist women to pray, serve, and stand together across continents, leaving a legacy that continues today.

We're honoured to share her story as part of celebrating the women who have shaped our shared history.

Sometimes generosity sounds like a duty.

But more often, it's a delight.

There is something deeply joyful about knowing you've encouraged someone, supported a ministry, shared a meal, or helped God's work continue in the world. We don't give because God is keeping score. We give because He has invited us to be part of something bigger than ourselves.

Paul reminds us that God loves a cheerful giver. Not because generosity is always easy, but because joyful giving grows from hearts that know they've already received so much.

May you discover that joy this week.
