One week ago today we gathered to pray for Toronto together. Thank you to the leaders who helped lead the prayer segments and guide us in prayer for our city.

The full prayers and prayer points for the seven areas we prayed for are available here so others can pray along with us and use them in their own communities:

This past week, several synagogues in the Greater Toronto Area were struck by gunfire.

These acts of antisemitic violence are deeply disturbing and completely unacceptable. As Mayor Olivia Chow has said, β€œToronto’s Jewish community has the right to practice their faith without fear, intimidation or violence.”

At The 2026 Toronto Prayer Breakfast, held on the same day as Purim, Aden Friedman, a Jewish follower of Jesus, read from the Book of Esther and led a prayer for our city.

In that prayer he named antisemitism clearly and rejected hatred and prejudice in all its forms. He asked God for protection for the vulnerable, wisdom for leaders, and peace among peoples and nations.

β€œFor such a time as this.” – Esther 4:14

We invite you to join us in praying for the Jewish community in our city, for the safety of all places of worship, and for the peace and welfare of Toronto.

We are grateful for Canadian Bible Society for their continued partnership as one of our Gold Sponsors.

Across Canada and around the world, they help people hear God speak by making Scripture accessible in the language of their hearts and in formats they can engage. They partner with churches and ministries so more people can encounter God’s unchanging Word.

On Tuesday morning:
Rev. Desiree Abrahams-Sills, a member of our TPB committee, will lead us in Scripture, praying the Word as we begin our time together.

Rev. Jacob Birch, Director of Philanthropic Partnerships – Churches at Canadian Bible Society, will lead us in a focused Prayer for Bible Engagement across our city and nation.

Following that prayer, Aden Friedman will read from Esther 4:12-16 and offer a brief prayer in response to the passage before our Prayer Coordinator, Rev. Donnie Persaud, continues guiding our time of prayer with our seven conveners.

3 more sleeps until The 2026 Toronto Prayer Breakfast.

We’re grateful for The Salvation Army in Canada, one of our Gold Sponsors this year.

Across Toronto, The Salvation Army serves alongside churches, community partners, and civic leaders to support families facing housing instability, food insecurity, addiction recovery, and crisis support.

On Tuesday morning, Captain Gina Haggett, Divisional Director for Public Relations The Salvation Army Ontario Division, will serve as our Prayer Convener for 'Family & Community Care'.

As we gather to pray for Toronto, we will lift up families, neighbourhoods, frontline workers, and the many organizations serving our city with compassion and faithfulness.

4 more sleeps until The 2026 Toronto Prayer Breakfast, on Tuesday, March 3rd!

We're grateful for our Prayer Coordinator, Rev. Donnie Persaud, who has helped shape and steward the prayer movement behind this gathering for the past seven years.

One of our Gold Sponsors, Crossroads Media, recently featured Empowered Life Church in a story connected to Anyone Pray.

It’s a reminder that when a local church says yes to prayer, the impact can extend far beyond its walls.

When Empowered Life Church in Toronto first heard about Anyone Pray, they didn’t realize it would become one of the most transformative ministries in their community. What began as a simple invitation to speak at a chapel service turned into a divine partnership. One that is now connecting countle...

Congratulations to the 28th Markham Prayer Breakfast team for hosting a meaningful gathering this morning. It was moving to stand in prayer for the leaders and people of Markham.

It was also the first time in recent memory that our TPB Committee attended as a full table rather than as individuals scattered across different events, so extra special.

We valued the time together, appreciated the opportunity to pray alongside you, and felt genuinely welcomed by the community. We were also very jealous of the early Christmas dΓ©cor πŸŽ„ on display since we never get any at ours in March no matter how much we pray for it 😜
