Dear brothers and sisters,

We hope and ask Allah that this message finds you well.

This page was created to raise awareness about Towfiq Islamic Centre (also known as Bukhari Islamic Centre), an Islamic centre based in Toronto.

The Muslim community in this area, particularly in Toronto and Etobicoke, are very familiar with our centre and the large number of students, young and old, who have come to learn about Islam.

We have been serving for the community 10+ years, Alhamdulilah this centre has been a home for many of our youth who have learned and memorized the Quran and the ahadith nabi ﷺ. As well as we give weekly classes for older people in the community.

As you all know,the masjid needs our help; the masjid depends on the Muslim ummah, especially in these difficult times; as you all are aware, the masjid has been on lockdown since the pandemic has started, which means there are no brothers and sisters who are coming to the masjid to help us cover the masjid rent and utilities that are over $10,000 per month.

Therefore, we seek your greatest attention Allah subahana watalal says in his Quran Surah Baqarah ayah 274:

الَّذِينَ يُنفِقُونَ أَمْوَالَهُم بِاللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ سِرًّا وَعَلَانِيَةً فَلَهُمْ أَجْرُهُمْ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ وَلَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ

Those who spend their wealth [in Allah’s way] by night and by day, secretly and publicly - they will have their reward with their Lord. And no fear will there be concerning them, nor will they grieve. (2:274)

What Are These Funds for:

By supporting this campaign, you are taking part in a Sadaqat Jaariyyah (on-going charity) for yourself and your family. This funding will be used towards buying the masjid property, and RasulluAllah ﷺ says, “Whoever builds a masjid for Allah, Allah will build for him a house like it in Paradise.” Source: Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 450, Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 533

Assalamu alykum, Dear Muslims
Tonight will be the last that our majisid will be prayed for the traweeh due to the restrictions of covid 19. As you all aware government of Ontario has reduced the number of occupants that can pray at the masjid at one time to 10 people therefore, we have decided to put a pause the service we provide for the community for the time being. Do not forget to donate for the sake of Allah.
