Our devotion today:

I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified
- 1 Corinthians 2:2

When we read this remarkable statement by the apostle Paul, two questions immediately come to mind. First- is it true? Second- is it right?

Was Paul giving an accurate description of his ministry when he said that he had spoken of nothing, while among the Corinthians, except "Jesus Christ, and him crucified"? Didn't he mention morality, didn't he teach other points of theology, didn't he bring to their minds biblical (Old Testament) history? The answer, of course, is "Yes!"

And, yet, it is also true that he spoke of nothing but Christ and his cross. Because the basis and inspiration for morality is the cross of Christ. Every point of theology centers around a correct understanding of the cross. And all history, including the entire Old Testament, is only properly understood in relation to the cross.

And so we also have the answer to the second question: was it right for Paul to center all his attention, all his teaching, on the cross of Christ? Absolutely! Grace, joy, grief, sacrifice, purpose, hope, love-all of these subjects can only be properly understood, properly prioritized, and properly practiced through a correct understanding of the substitutionary death of the perfect Jesus on an eternally planned cross.

The cross was not an accident; it was not a practice run; it was not just a good example. Jesus Christ carried our sins, in his own body, on the tree so that we, being freed from sin, would live a life that exalts his name. The cross is the pivot-point of history. It is the impetus and standard for morality. And it is the center stage of theology.

Not only is it therefore right to focus all our attention on the cross of Christ, it is wrong not to. May the cross, today, be the focus of your vision and the fullness of your heart. May you know nothing among your friends, your co-workers, your family, save Jesus Christ and him crucified.
Have a fabulous day ! God bless!🙏

Our devotion today:

Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved
- Acts 4:12

In the last two days we have looked at the seriousness of sin and at the urgent need for repentance. Unrepentant sin leads to an everlasting lake of fire.

But where is salvation found? It is not found even in our repentance or good works, because we could never be good enough to please a perfect God. It is not found in sincerity alone, because many religions and philosophies are sincere and yet diametrically opposed to each other. Where can salvation be found?

It is found only in the perfect person and work of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. By his perfect life, selfless and substitutionary death, and powerful resurrection Jesus proved himself to be what he claimed to be during his life — the one, true God. Salvation is found in him alone because he alone is able and willing to save us from our sins.

Have you felt the weight of your sins? Have you been convinced of your inability to find any lasting joy, satisfaction, or forgiveness on your own? Then rush into the arms of the One in whom salvation is found. There is no other name under heaven, whereby we must be saved, than Jesus Christ. But that name is sufficient to wipe away every sin and to save us completely from our guilt and shame.

Have a great weekend everyone!!God bless you all!🙏

Our devotion today:

Now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept
- Corinthians 15:20

Christ is the "firstfruits" of everyone who has died, or will die, in him! "Firstfruits" were the first portion of a harvest, which served as a sample, an indicator of things to come. Similarly, Paul says, when you look at the resurrected Christ you should see his real, glorified body as a foreshadowing of what you will one day enjoy, if you are a believer in Christ.

Dear believer, this very body you inhabit will one day - along with your soul - be perfected. How that puts our physical insecurities and our discouragements about aging into perspective! Any physical deformity or handicap in your body will 🔜 be gone, any decline in your health will soon be fixed forever.

So, yes, take good care of this body you are given so that you might use it to God’s glory as long and as well as possible. But do not put your sense of identity in this current form of your body. If your body is beautiful now, it is nothing compared to what Christ will make you one day; and if your body is feeble in any way now, it will one day be more majestic and mighty than you can even imagine.

Keep this reality in mind next time you see a model on the cover of a magazine and are tempted to be dissatisfied with your own body. Keep this in mind the next time you look in the mirror and notice a new gray hair or wrinkle. It is God who made your body in the first place, just as he wants you, and it is God who will perfectly remake your body in the same fashion as his Son Jesus Christ.

Jesus, who died in our place and rose again for our justification, is the representative sample of all who belong to him! Every believer in Christ has eternal life and will be raised again in the last day. Walking in that reality today will transform how you view yourself now, and what your hope is for the future.

Have a great and wonderful day! God bless you!🙏

Our devotion today:

Cornelius waited for them, and had called together his kinsmen and near friends
- Acts 10:24

In all our zeal to spread the gospel around the globe, we sometimes miss the most obvious and useful field of evangelism that is open to any of us -- our own family and friends.

If we are to be a light in this dark world, who better to see that light shine than those who are closest to us? If we are to be salt to the earth, who better to taste the savor of the Savior in our lives than those with whom we interact on a daily basis? On the other hand, if we hide the open flame of our Christian witness under a basket when our dearest loved ones are with us, how can we ever hope to bring the good news to the heathen in another hemisphere?

Cornelius, a centurion of authority and influence, was also described as a man "of good report among all the nation of the Jews." And yet when Peter came to preach the gospel, Cornelius did not call together the soldiers under him, nor did he reach out first to the many Jews who respected him in the community. He began with his own family and near friends.

It can sometimes be daunting to witness to loved ones with whom we interact on a regular basis. Sharing the gospel with them will necessarily mean having to live the gospel in front of them. Yet the clear emphasis of Scripture is that "going into all the world" and "preaching the gospel to the whole creation" begins by sharing the good news in our own living room, cul-de-sac, or cubicle.

Have a great and wonderful day! God bless you !🙏

Our devotion today :

Endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace
- Ephesians 4:3

Embedded in the word endeavor is the idea of effort, struggle, taking pains to reach a specific goal. For the church of Jesus Christ to succeed and be a witness in the world for good, it is necessary that we strive, to the point of exhaustion, for peace and unity within the body. We are never to give up this noble goal.

Too often we are ready at the smallest provocation to give up, or to beat up, on another member of the church. We take offense and so we give offense. But that is not the way followers of Christ -- who was slapped, beaten, scourged, and killed without ever striking back -- are to behave ourselves.

Through the strength of the Spirit of Christ, which is in each of his children and which empowers the church as a whole, we know that we can overcome any obstacle, forgive any offense, release any grudge, and love any sinner. It is this Spirit-led, Spirit-induced unity -- not the false unity of spiritual compromise or false pretenses -- that we are to labor for with supernatural determination and exertion.

So, who do you need to forgive right now? What effort do you need to make towards reconciliation with a brother or sister? Do it now for Christ's sake.
Have a great and wonderful day!God bless you!🙏

Our devotion today:

Joseph came in unto them in the morning, and looked upon them, and, behold, they were sad
- Genesis 40:6

Have you ever noticed how unlikely it was that Joseph would notice the sadness of his cellmates? He had plenty of problems himself, without taking on anyone else's. His brothers had sold him into slavery and then his boss had fired and imprisoned him on false charges. Yet, Joseph noticed and cared about others.

The surest way out of a personal pit of discouragement is to think of and serve others. The surest way to deepen your dark times is to draw into, and think more about, yourself. Joseph is perhaps the best example in the Old Testament of a selfless, servant-spirited saint and it is no coincidence that, in every situation in which he found himself, he continually rose above his trial and glorified God.

Are you going through difficult times? Have others wronged you? What has been your response? Do you think of others and how to help them, or only about yourself and your own problems? Look around you: there is a world of opportunities to help, and they are all open doors that lead out of your darkness.

Have a great day!God bless you all!🙏

Our devotion today:

Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honor unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered
- 1 Peter 3:7

Husband, get to know your wife. Study her. What makes her smile, giggle, thrill, or weep? What gives her joy, what gives her pain, what gives her goose bumps? What are her dreams, what makes her tick, what gets her down? You should not only be her best friend, but the one who knows her better than anyone and who uses that knowledge to help and strengthen her in Christ.

On the one hand, she is to be treated delicately and respectfully because her emotional and physical makeup is more fragile than yours (God said it, not me). On the other hand, she is immortal! She will spend eternity with you in heaven, so treat her like the glorious, magnificent child of God that she is.

If you fail to love and know her as you ought to, then you offend her heavenly Father who gave his Son for her sake and your prayers will be hindered.

Whether you are married or not, remember this: Jesus loves you, believer, perfectly and with perfect knowledge. He handles you carefully and knows your weaknesses. He joyfully anticipates spending eternity with you! And his prayers are never hindered because he never fails to help and strengthen his bride, the church.
Have a great day everyone ! God bless you all!🙏

Our devotion today:

O LORD my God, thou art very great
- Psalm 104:1

Here is worship in a nutshell. The greatness of God, leading us to talk to God, about how great God is.

But what leads this psalmist to worship in this way? Perhaps surprisingly, what leads the psalmist to worship is not a sudden flow of overwhelming emotion. Rather it is personal determination.

This verse actually begins with: "Bless the Lord, O my soul. O Lord my God, thou art very great..." The psalmist first recognizes the need to worship and determines to do so-"Bless the Lord, O my soul"-and it is from that personal determination that worship then comes: "O Lord my God, thou art very great..." And the psalmist goes on from there, throughout the rest of the psalm, to stir himself up to worship by thinking about how great God is.

In our feelings-driven culture, where we so quickly fall in love and fall out of love, it may sound strange to say worship comes when we discipline ourselves to worship. But the fact is that worship, and love, are commands in Scripture, are required of us no matter who we are (Matthew 4:10; Psalm 95:6).

Here in Psalm 104, the psalmist begins with "Bless the Lord, O my soul." Talking to himself, as it were, leads him to talk to God. The call to worship is from the psalmist, to himself. Like the psalmist, we ought to begin every prayer with a personal determination to worship God. "God is great-always, no matter how I am feeling at the moment-and so I will go to God regularly and worship him."

We will not always feel like praying, or like worshiping. But because God is always great, it is always appropriate to say to yourself, "Bless the Lord, O my soul", and then turn to the Lord in direct and personal prayer and say, "O Lord my God, you are very great."

Have a nice day!God bless you all !🙏🙏

Our devotion today:

[We have] boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus
- Hebrews 10:19

Access to the holy God who created us is the most precious commodity in the universe. So precious, in fact, that no person can afford it, can purchase it with any amount of money or sacrifice or even personal godliness.

This is the lesson we are meant to learn from the Old Testament sacrificial system of worship. The innermost room (the "holiest") of the temple was where God’s presence was experienced in a special way. Yet the writer of Hebrews reminds us that there is only one way to access the presence of God.

What thousands of priests, over hundreds of years, could never accomplish - what billions of people over thousands of generations have never been able to do for themselves - Jesus did for sinners once and for all through his death.

We have boldness to enter the holy of holies, the special place of communion with God, through the blood of Jesus! Because Jesus sacrificed himself on the cross for the sins of his people, those who are trusting in Jesus for their salvation are now able to walk confidently in where angels literally fear to tread.

God is never reluctant to receive us in Jesus' name. There is never a time when you cannot come to God, through faith in Jesus' sacrifice on your behalf, and find reception, forgiveness, love, and communion. God sent Jesus to take our place on the cross so that he could receive us day after day, time after time, moment by moment throughout our lives.

Have a Blessed and Victorious one!🙏

Our devotion today:

Pray without ceasing
- 1 Thessalonians 5:17

What is the first thing you do when you wake up? What is the last thing that you do as you go to bed? What occupies your thoughts, attention, and affections throughout each day? Is it communion with God? If not, why not?

Through the finished work of Christ on the cross we have access to, and the favor of, the only Being in the entire universe who has the wisdom we need for decisions, the strength we need for struggles, the love we need for relationships, the goodness we need for right living. When we pray, we enter into the presence of God and we commune with him from our hearts.

The question, then, is not why Paul gives us such a difficult commandment -- to pray without ceasing -- but why we would not avail ourselves constantly of the single greatest opportunity that Christ's blood has now provided us. We should pray, not to appease some vague sense of guilt or obligation, but to enjoy the great pleasures, pursue the great holiness, and enter the great presence of the Lover of our souls.

Pray to him today. Pray to him tomorrow. Pray to him when you're sad. Pray to him when you're exhausted. Pray to him when you're exuberant. Pray to him when you feel empty and when you feel full. Pray to him without ceasing.

Have a great and wonderful day!God bless you all!🙏😘❤️
