Project Updates:

As of today, October 31st, 2024 (11am) we have $525,000 at the bank (including $200k deposit given) plus $11,000 check to be deposited today. So, the total would be $536,000 ready for the down payment. We still need $64,000 to make $600k down payment.

We are confident many community members will come forward and be part of this historic project.

Project Updates!

As of today October 30th, 2024 (9:00am) we have $518,705 ready for the down payment, we still need additional $81,295 to make $600k down payment plus we need some cash at the Bank for the cash flow. We are expecting $31,000 pledged contributions in couple of days.

Property Transfer Date: November 15th, 2024
We're working with Lawyer, Insurance Company, Vancity and the Sellers.

Tomorrow Thursday October 31st, 2024 is Laxmi Pooja day in North America. Our temple will be open from 6pm to 8pm.

Deusi Bhailo Preparation - Friday Nov 1st, 2024

We are looking for artists who can play Guitar, Madal, Deusi Bhailo Bhattyaauney, Singing Songs and Dance. If you would like to join the Deusi Bhailo Performance team, please let us know. We're forming a Messenger group.

Deusi Bhailo Program is from 6pm to 8pm on Friday November 1st, 2024. But the temple will be open from noon. We will be cooking Prasad including SelRoti and doing preparation from the noon.

Let's come with families and friends and celebrate this annual cultural events together at the temple and eat SelRoti and other Prasad items.

1. Watch your kids during the event.
2. Helps us to put the garbage on proper bins as follows:
(a) Stack all the Plastic plates or put the plastic plates and spoons in the Black Bins, Black garbage bags.
(b) Left over Foods goes to green bins.
(c) Recycle Items (Water Bottles, Milk container, Cans): We collect in a container nears the stairs, attached to the fence
(d) Papers, Cardboard, Hard Plastic goes to Blue Bins.
(e) Plastic coated cups goes to Black Bin, regular paper cups goes to green bins.

We are holding an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) of Hindu Buddhist Foundation of Canada (HBFC) on the day/date/time/location as below. The meeting has been necessitated due to the requirement of the Financial Institution (Vancity) of a members’ special resolution to acquire 12341 Winram Rd., and to borrow funds necessary to complete the purchase. We request you to please attend the meeting. If you are unable to attend in person, you may join online (zoom link below). You may also opt to designate another member of HBFC to participate at the meeting on your behalf by signing the proxy form (you will find at the end of the attached HBFC bylaws).
