Wellandport United Reformed Church Come worship with us every Sunday at 9:30 AM and 2:30 PM at 74082 Wellandport Rd., Wellandport, ON To God alone belongs all the glory.

Our Faith

WELLANDPORT: "We believe and profess one catholic or universal Church, which is a holy congregation of true Christian believers, all expecting their salvation in Jesus Christ, being washed by His blood, sanctified and sealed by the Holy Spirit" (Belgic Confession, Article 27). This universal Church comes to expression in local churches found in communities throughout the world, such as

in Wellandport, Ontario. UNITED: This signifies the unity of our congregation, our unity with other churches in our federation, and the unity we have with believers across the world. "This holy Church is not confined, bound, or limited to a certain place or to certain persons, but is spread and dispersed over the whole world; and yet is joined and united with heart and will, by the power of faith, in one and the same Spirit" (Belgic Confession, Article 27). REFORMED: Our roots go back to the Protestant Reformation of the 16th century, more particularly to the Calvinistic branch of the Reformation. We confess all the great doctrines of the Reformation, emphasizing that salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone (Eph. 2:8). The Scriptures alone are our infallible rule for faith and practice. CHURCH: "The marks by which the true Church is known are these: If the pure doctrine of the gospel is preached therein; if it maintains the pure administration of the sacraments as instituted by Christ; if church discipline is exercised in punishing of sin; in short, if all things are managed according to the pure Word of God, all things contrary thereto rejected, and Jesus Christ acknowledged as the only Head of the Church" (Belgic Confession, Article 29). We are by no means perfect, but we seek to be faithful to Jesus Christ in accordance with the Scriptures. We believe that the Bible is faithfully summarized and taught in the Ecumenical Creeds of the Christian Church and by the Confessions (or Three Forms of Unity) of the Reformed tradition.

New Update to Luncheon for Jan.29:

It was brought to my attention that a much better way to organize the food for the luncheons is to use a meal train. I hope this doesn’t confuse anyone here but it really is super simple and will make it much easier to facilitate the organization of food as everyone can see what food is already being taken and what is still needed. There are slots for soup, buns, juice boxes, water bottles, cheese, ham, butter, and even some chore slots. Just click the link to sign up. If you already let Charlene know what you are bringing you don’t have to sign up again as we have already added you. Link is https://mealtrain.com/wqy45e

Keep in mind that not necessarily every slot needs to be filled. If there are only 70 people coming then we won’t need 10 pots of soup and 15 dozen buns. So keep an eye on the list and family size and adjust accordingly. As such, it would be very helpful to let Charlene know whether you are coming or not, and how many people are in your family. This way she can keep an eye on the number of people planning to come. Her email is [email protected]

Blessings this weekend,

Jessica Keizer

A message from Dan Fennema
Greetings! This year I will be participating at the EOMC Golf Tournament in Kanata in support of the new Teen Challenge center located in Renfrew, Ontario. If would like to sponsor me and by doing so bless our Center, please do! Also, I am looking for anyone that would like to participate in the Golf Tournament. It will be located at Kanata Golf and Country Club, which is a PGA course, a once in a lifetime experience for most of us! I have spots on my team that could be filled, or you can create your own team of up to 4 people. It will be worth the trip out this way, perhaps make a long weekend out of it and stay at a local hotel or camp ground! If you have a business, please consider a corporate sponsorship!

The Deacons are at the church TODAY Saturday, April 11th untill 3:00pm.

Two Deacons are behind the church, and are ready to accept your drive-through offerings, even if you arrive in a TRACTOR 🚜🚜🚜

From the comfort of your vehicle, you will be able to drop your offering in an offering box, while maintaining ample physical distancing.

As has been previously announced, offerings will be collected for Benevolence (a fund administered by the Deacons to assist those in need), as well as for the church budget. Please use your church envelopes, and clearly mark on each envelope (or on the memo line of your cheque), where you want your offering to be allocated. If your envelope or cheque does not indicate a cause, the offering will be allocated to the church budget. Any cash or coins placed into the offering box will be allocated to Benevolence.

The plan is to count the offering near the end of the following week. The Deacons want to encourage anyone who is unable to, or who is uncomfortable with dropping off their offering on Saturday, to contact their district Deacon to discuss options for collecting your offering.
