This Saturday, November 1, the portion of our service that is normally the sermon will be replaced with a Justice and Poverty Panel, focusing on how these issues play out in Richmond. The panel will include a member of our own church, alongside three other individuals who are doing meaningful work in our city. Come hear about the needs in Richmond, stories of the ways God is meeting those needs, and how you can get involved. This evening welcomes all people, even those who may not identify as Christ followers, but who have an interest in justice issues.  This is a great way to find common ground in seeking the good of this city we belong to and love.

A few Saturdays ago we celebrated our 5th anniversary as a church! Thanks to all who joined us and have been supporting us all this time. Our hearts and stomachs were so full. We got to worship, feast, and be silly together. And we have indeed witnessed the various ways Jesus has invited us to "come and see" what he’s been up to these past 5 years. We look forward to where he will lead us next.

We are so proud and excited to announce that Jenn and Jo have both passed their "classical exams" yesterday. They both crushed it. And this is the final portion of their path to ordination. Their installation services will be sometime in November. May you continue to pray for these two as they step into God's call for each of them.

As part of our Scripture series, Dr. Matt Lynch will be joining us at Tapestry Nights this coming Saturday to explore the topic of violence in the Old Testament. Matt’s most recent book, Flood and Fury, discusses this topic. In both his writing and speaking, Matt has a way of being clear and engaging. Come and invite a friend. All are welcome.

On Good Friday, we were reminded that we were bought with a price. We were reminded that Jesus paid it all on the cross. We were reminded that His death was the ultimate act of love that washed away the sins of humanity.

It is dark. The light of the world has been blown out. But we know that is not the end of the story…
