Occupy Till I Come — The Way of the Eagle
Anchor Scripture: Isaiah 40:31 (KJV)
“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”
Introduction
God did not design the believer to live permanently on the ground. There is a dimension of spiritual growth, strength, vision, influence and accomplishment that requires wings.
The eagle does not merely run when there is danger—it rises above the storm. In the same way, God wants His people to rise above limitations, opposition, fear and circumstances.
What Do Wings Represent?
Wings represent spiritual strength
Isaiah 40:31
Wings represent divine elevation
Deuteronomy 28:13 — “And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail…”
Wings represent supernatural speed
Psalm 18:33 — “He maketh my feet like hinds' feet, and setteth me upon my high places.”
Wings represent divine protection
Psalm 91:4 (KJV):
“He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust…”
Wings represent vision
The eagle is known for seeing from a great distance. God wants believers to see beyond their present circumstances.
Wings represent freedom from earthly limitations
Galatians 5:1 — “Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free…”
Wings represent access to higher dimensions
Colossians 3:1–2 teaches us to set our affection on things above.
How Do We Develop Wings to Fly?
1. Through waiting upon the Lord
Isaiah 40:31
2. Through prayer and fasting
Matthew 6:16–18; Acts 13:2–3
3. Through the Word of God
Psalm 119:105
4. Through the power of the Holy Spirit
Acts 1:8
5. Through praise and worship

6. Through obedience to God

A Prophetic Declaration
Every power keeping you on the ground is broken!
You are rising above limitations.
You are rising above stagnation.
You are rising above opposition.
You are rising above fear.
You are rising above every storm.
Your wings are receiving strength.
Your vision is becoming clearer.
Your destiny is taking flight.
You will not die on the ground—you will mount up with wings as eagles, in Jesus' name! Amen.
