Hey Guys. The fb people are telling me I haven't posted to this site for awhile. So I decided a little update would be good. We're building up some speed in this new year. I'm still in awe at all that went on at MBC in 2018. Our building got a huge makeover. We had an awesome summer for our kids and youth thanks to Pastor Sarah and her sidekick, Amelia. We ended the year in great shape financially. Most important in 2018 I think, are the Guideposts we set. 1. More consistent church attendance by our members. 2. 2/3 of Youth and adults involved in a Small Group. 3. Word and Deed Outreach efforts. 4. Two conversion baptisms a year. These are important areas of church life. We can't dictate to God how He will work, but we can be focused on the things He calls us to do. I'm thinking about outreach more these days than maybe I ever have before. The Church in Canada (and beyond) is in a dilemma. On one hand we as a society are losing our consciousness of Jesus and Christianity. On the other hand, the Church has bought into the message that it's not PC to "witness" anymore. While Romans 10 sits in the background saying, "How will they believe unless they hear, and how will they hear unless someone speaks, and how will someone speak unless they are sent. How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news." Please be in prayer for the Elder Counsel (Tony Gary, Jeff Waddell, Andrew Myers, Pastor Sarah and I). We are meeting Wed eve to discuss outreach and a thing called Seeker Small Groups.
I'm not sure who all subscribes to our fb page. But I hope you have an awesome week. If you got a break because of the storm, very cool. Take a few minutes to pray today. Not on the fly, but really stop and pray for yourself and someone else.
