We are currently looking for volunteers to help with BBQ, food service, salad preparation, setup, takedown, and many other important tasks throughout the festival on the weekend of June 20,21 and 23,24, 2026

For many years, a small group of dedicated individuals has carried the responsibility of keeping our community events alive. But this community belongs to all of us — and it takes all of us to keep it strong for future generations.

Volunteering is more than helping at a festival. It is giving back to your church, your community, your culture, and your traditions.

If you can give a few hours of your time, your help will truly make a difference. Together, we can continue building something beautiful for our families, our children, and our community.

Please come join us and be part of the success of this year’s festival.

A few days after Easter, we received this beautiful card from one of our parishioners, and we were truly touched.
It means so much to know that there are people who genuinely understand the struggles, sacrifices, and dedication required to keep our church and community strong. Every hour volunteered and every sacrifice made comes from the heart and from a deep love for our faith and community.
We are sincerely grateful for your kindness, support, and understanding of our mission.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
President, South Shore Region🙏❤️

Did you know why we say “Christ is Risen” during and after Pascha?

We say the Paschal Greeting “Christ is Risen” (Greek: Χριστὸς Ἀνέστη “Christos Anesti”) from Pascha (Easter Sunday) until the day before the Ascension of Christ. This season is called “Paschaltide” or the Paschal (Easter) Season.

During this Paschal season, we continue celebrating the Feast of Feasts, the greatest celebration of joy for Orthodox Christians. The Resurrection of Christ restored fallen humanity, defeated the works of the evil one, and even conquered death itself. Saint John Chrysostom says: “The Feast of Pascha is a pledge of peace, a fountain of reconciliation, the destruction of death, the devil’s ruin.” This is our faith and the reason for our joy: Christ is Risen! Truly He is Risen!

We find this greeting first used in the Gospels themselves. In the Gospel of Matthew, an angel at the tomb told the Myrrh-Bearing Women, “He is not here; for He is risen.” (Matthew 28:6). In the Gospel of Luke, the disciples in Jerusalem told the two who walked with Jesus on the road to Emmaus, “The Lord is risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon!” (Luke 24:34).

As disciples of Christ, we preserve this Paschal tradition. At church and in everyday life, the first words we say or write when greeting someone is: Christ is Risen! They respond: Truly He is Risen! (Greek: Ἀληθῶς Ἀνέστη “Alithos Anesti”). In celebrating the Resurrection of Christ, we demonstrate our joy and prepare ourselves for our own resurrection with Christ, when we will reign with Him in the age to come.

Christ is Risen! ✨

Today we celebrate the triumph of life over death, and light over darkness.
The Resurrection of Christ reminds us that even in the most difficult moments, hope, faith, and love always prevail.

May our hearts be filled with light, may we lift one another up, and move forward with strength and optimism.

Wishing you all a blessed Easter filled with health, peace, and joy. 🕊️
