Out of anyone who knows the Word of God well, it's the enemy. But you can keep him on his toes! Even Jesus Himself combated the enemy using the Word of God when He was being tempted in the wilderness. It's a powerful tool that the book of Hebrews calls the sword of the Spirit. It's your weapon in the battlefield. For we do not wrestle with flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces of evil. Stay in the game.

Don't kid yourself. Jesus is still in the business of cleaning house on the daily. Make sure yours is well dusted.

See, the thing about God is He often requires us to overlook how we feel in order to stay focused on the mission. Obedience can sometimes feel like grief because it demands us to surrender the very thing we thought God promised us, sometimes without any real answers or rational. It's not about the open door or breakthrough. It's about who you are becoming in the process and what He intends on refining in this season, which ultimately makes us more like Christ. That's a good place to be. Yes, this can be an unruly time of stretching, but sometimes, the provision requires the process.

Did you know Jesus was a gardener too? New blog below 🌱👇
As we read through the Bible, scripture makes it pretty clear that Jesus worked as a carpenter in His pre-ministry life. During that time, it was a common practice for son’s to learn and inherit the trade of their father. Joseph, Jesus’ father, also worked in this field. The Greek word for carpenter is “tekton,” which refers to craftsman, builder, or someone who works with wood, stone or various other types of materials. Could this be a prophetic message to the life we live in Him, with the Holy Spirit often rebuilding and shaping us into our full image in Christ?

Another occupation that is frequently overlooked when we read our Bibles was the fact that Jesus seemed to also enjoy gardening.

Wait, what?

Jesus was an excellent gardener. As a matter of fact, He often preached about pruning, sowing, planting, staying rooted in the faith, bearing fruit and clinging to Him like a vine (hence the name of this ministry).

For instance,

“A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up,” Galations 6:7-9.

“I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit,” John 15: 1-2.

“They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do,” Psalm 1:3.

If He is the Gardener, let us continue to be thirsty for all things that speak to God’s good nature and face the Son with steadfast roots and grit no matter the climate or terrain.

And so, we leave you with this Word:

“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose,” Romans 8:28.
