Norval United Church

Today was an extra special Thanksgiving Sunday at Norval!

One of our young people, Charlie, was among this year’s recipients of the Baillie Volunteer Service Award from the Toronto United Church Council!

Thank you to Brian from TUCC for joining us this morning to present the award, and to Rev. Heather for nominating Charlie for this well-deserved recognition.

And a very special thank you to Charlie for the many ways they share their gifts, leadership, compassion, and creativity with our Norval community. We are so grateful for all that you bring to our church family, Charlie, and we can't wait to see where your gifts will take you next!

Congratulations, Charlie! ❤️

This Thanksgiving Sunday, we’ll gather to celebrate, give thanks, and pay attention to the grace that meets us in the ordinary moments of our lives. Through the story of one person who stopped, turned back, and gave thanks, we’ll wonder together: What have you noticed? Where have you encountered kindness, generosity, hope, or love?

At our 10 a.m. service, we’ll also have the joy of recognizing Charlie Bolton as a recipient of the Toronto United Church Council (TUCC) Baillie Volunteer Service Award and celebrating the many ways people of all ages offer their gifts in our community and beyond.

Join us online at 9 a.m. or in person at 10 a.m. as we celebrate Thanksgiving together. All are welcome!

Join us on Sunday, October 18th from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. for Norval United's Pollinator Garden Open House (14015 Danby Road, Georgetown)!

There will be guest speakers, exhibitors, and refreshments. Feel free to bring any pollinator friendly plants you would like to share and spread the word to friends and family about the event. Everyone is welcome!

The Norval United Church Pollinator Garden Project is focused on providing a quiet reflective space for members of our faith and the broader community to live into the realization that we exist as part of God’s whole creation and must be committed to be in right relationship with the natural world.

Email Trudy at [email protected] if you would like to support the initiative in any way or would like further information about the event. Additional support to w**d the garden in prep for the day would be greatly appreciated!
