What a beautiful day we shared at our Women’s Retreat, with 60 ladies gathered together for a day filled with God’s presence, encouragement, laughter, fellowship and wonderful food, all centred around our theme verse: “Fear not, for I am with you” — Isaiah 41:10. 💕

We were especially blessed by our guest speaker and author, Charlotte Evelyn Sloan, who shared openly from her own life and experiences, offering encouragement, wisdom and reminders of God’s faithfulness through every season. Her message tied so beautifully into the promise that we are never alone.

We were also treated to so many special talents throughout the day. Sharon Blackler treated us to her wonderful cupcake-decorating artistry, Char Schroeder of Turtle Lake shared her beautiful voice, and Erin Foreman of Battleford on violin, together with Natawna Foreman of North Battleford on cello, filled the room with beautiful music. Our own River View Community Church worship team led us in worship, and Debbie Gadsby kept the day flowing as our MC, adding plenty of fun along the way. ❤️

And of course, there was the food! ☕🍽️ From morning coffee time to a delicious lunch and another coffee time in the afternoon, Judy Millar did a wonderful job coordinating it all.

There were also door prizes galore, with thanks to everyone who contributed such generous and fun gifts for the day. 🎁

A special thank you as well to Shelley Bloom, whose vision for this retreat helped bring the day to life, and to every person who gave their time, talents and helping hands to make it all come together.

This little glimpse only begins to capture what a glorious day it was together. 💕

🍂❤️ There’s still room for YOU at our Women’s Retreat! ❤️🍂

Our Women’s Retreat is coming up soon, and we’re getting excited as the day draws closer! We already have a wonderful group of ladies registered, but we still have room around the tables for a few more, and perhaps one of those places is meant for you. 😊

Join us on Saturday, October 3rd at River View Community Church for a day set aside to be refreshed, encouraged and enjoy the company of other women.

Our theme, “God Will Take Care of You,” is such a wonderful reminder for every season of life. We’re looking forward to hearing from Speaker & Author Charlotte Evelyn Sloan, along with special music, a cupcake decorating demonstration, door prizes, a lovely lunch, gifts and plenty of fellowship and laughter along the way. 🍁🧁🎶

And please know, you do not need to attend River View Community Church to join us! Women ages 16 and up from throughout our surrounding communities are warmly invited. Come on your own, or bring your daughter, mom, sister, neighbour or friend and enjoy the day together. 💕

🌊🛶 RIVER RUN 2026 UPDATE

After watching the forecast closely and discussing it as a committee, we’ve made the decision to cancel tomorrow’s River Run.

While the temperatures themselves aren’t too bad, the wind is really the deciding factor. On the river, that can make a cool day feel much colder, especially if anyone gets wet. With kids and a variety of paddlers joining us, we want it to be a safe, comfortable and enjoyable day for everyone.

We’re disappointed because we were really looking forward to getting out on the river together! But we would much rather wait for a better day than push ahead when the conditions just aren’t ideal.

A big thank you to everyone who planned to join us, offered equipment, helped with rides and arrangements, or simply shared in the excitement. ❤️

We’ll keep the idea alive and hope to plan another River Run when the weather is much more cooperative. It may not happen again this year, but the river will still be there waiting for us! 🛶☀️

🚣‍♀️🛶 WE’RE READY TO TRY THIS AGAIN! RVCC RIVER RUN 2026! 😃☀️

Our first date didn’t work out, but we’re ready to give it another go! We’ve picked a NEW DAY for the River Run and we’re excited to hit the river together.

📣 SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 13, 2026
⏰ Meet at River View Community Church at NOON to load up and coordinate transportation.

Then it’s off to Fort Pitt Provincial Park to launch and spend the afternoon paddling the beautiful North Saskatchewan River back toward Frenchman Butte! 🛶❤️

Whether you bring a kayak, canoe or paddleboard, this is such an enjoyable stretch of river. Come for the scenery, the fresh air, the laughs and a great afternoon with friends, family and community!

🌭 And we’re not finished when we get off the river!
We’ll wrap up the adventure with a hot dog meal together afterward, because food always tastes better after a few hours on the river! 😋🔥

🎒 WHAT TO BRING

• Kayak, canoe or paddleboard
• Life jacket – mandatory ✅
• Paddle/oars
• Layers appropriate for the weather
• Sunscreen, hat & bug spray
• Snack & drink for the river
• A dry change of clothes is always a good idea!

🚙 Transportation will be coordinated, so we can get everyone and their equipment where they need to be without leaving vehicles behind.

🚣‍♀️ RIVER RUN POSTPONED, BUT THE CORN ROAST IS STILL ON! 🌽

Well... the weather has decided not to cooperate with us today, so for everyone’s comfort and safety, today’s RVCC River Run has been postponed.

Our tentative new date is Sunday, September 13, following the church service, with a weiner roast to follow! 🔥🌭
We’ll share more details once plans are finalized, so stay tuned.

But don’t let the gloomy weather keep you home tonight! 🌽

The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 183 - Frenchman Butte, SK Corn Roast is still happening this evening, and we’d love to encourage everyone to come out, enjoy supper together and support our local Legion. ❤️

Bring your appetite, bring a friend, and let’s still make the most of the day together!

In Loving Memory of Myrtle Fester 🤍

This Saturday, August 29, we will gather at River View Community Church to celebrate the life of Myrtle Fester, a dear and longtime part of our church family.

Myrtle was one of our longest-attending members, a prayer warrior, a former elder, and above all, a faithful servant of the Lord. Her prayers, her faith and her presence among us have been a blessing over so many years, and she will be greatly missed.

Many are already aware of the service, but we wanted to share the details once more for anyone who may not have heard.
