Danville, June 6, 2026 — Les Jeunes du Carré – Kids in the Square are proud to announce a special educational fishing day at Lac William in Saint-Ferdinand for children aged 6 to 12, taking place on June 6, 2026, alongside Rick the Fisherman, a fishing guide with many years of experience.
This activity will allow young participants to discover the basics of sport fishing in a safe, educational, and fun environment. Throughout the day, the children will learn:
• Water safety rules;
• How to prepare lures and bait;
• Basic techniques for catching fish;
• Identification of fish species;
• The importance of catch and release;

Thanks to a generous grant from the Fondation de la Faune du Québec, as well as the support of its President and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Jean-Claude D’Amours, and through a sponsorship from ProNature Plessisville Victoriaville, each child will receive a fishing licence and a fishing rod to continue enjoying this outdoor activity with their families while respecting nature. Les Jeunes du Carré – Kids in the Square would also like to warmly thank Grobec and Camp Action Biblique for lending life jackets, helping ensure the safety of all our young anglers throughout this educational day. Les Jeunes du Carré – Kids in the Square thank all of their partners, including Trinity United Church of Danville, the Italian United Church Redeemer Fund, as well as the many volunteers who help make this day a memorable experience for the children of the community.
