Today, we celebrate a man whose heart for God is reflected so beautifully in his love for people. A shepherd who doesn't just lead his flock but genuinely cares for every sheep. A father whose heart is big enough to carry the burdens of others. A man who will inconvenience himself, go the extra mile, make the difficult sacrifice, and give of his time, strength and resources just to make sure someone else is alright.
Pastor, we see your labour of love. We see the sacrifices, including the ones nobody knows about. We see your unwavering commitment to God's work, your devotion to your family, and the way you continually pour yourself into the lives of those God has entrusted to your care.
Thank you for loving us, praying for us, teaching us, correcting us when necessary, standing with us through difficult seasons, and constantly pointing us back to Jesus.
You teach us that ministry is not just about what happens behind the pulpit, but about the lives we touch, the burdens we help carry, and the love of Christ we demonstrate every day.
As you celebrate another year today, our prayer is that the God you have served so faithfully will refresh, strengthen and reward you. May He replenish everything you have poured out, answer the prayers you have whispered for yourself and your family, and surround you with the same love, kindness and care you so freely give to others.
May your joy be full, your strength continually renewed, and may you live long and well to enjoy the fruits of your labour, in Jesus' name.
