How to Perform the Eclipse Prayer

This special event is a wonderful opportunity to come together as a community and celebrate Canada Day in a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere.

The afternoon will begin with a flag-raising ceremony and cake-cutting celebration, followed by a delicious BBQ and an opportunity to enjoy time with friends, neighbours, and fellow community members.

There will also be fun activities for children, including bouncy castles, making it an enjoyable event for the whole family.

This month’s guest speaker, Fauzia Wafai, will present “Understanding Mental Health,” an informative session exploring mental well-being, resilience, and support for individuals and families facing life’s challenges.

Fauzia has lived in the Waterloo Region for over eight years and is actively involved in the community. She serves on the board of Hospice of Waterloo Region and on the steering committee of Interfaith Grand River.

She holds a Master of Arts in Spiritual Care and Psychotherapy from Wilfrid Laurier University, is a member of the Canadian Association for Spiritual Care, and is pursuing registration with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.

Drawing on her experience supporting people through illness, mental health challenges, loss, trauma, and major life transitions, Fauzia brings a compassionate and holistic perspective to her work.

The Islamic Centre of Cambridge is pleased to announce our upcoming Youth Connect program, taking place on Sunday, June 14th at 2:00pm.

This program is designed to bring together graduating high school students and current post-secondary students in a supportive and engaging environment. The goal is to help students navigate the transition from high school to college or university by providing an opportunity to learn from those who have recently experienced it themselves.

Participants will have the chance to discuss topics such as academic expectations, campus life, time management, choosing a program, balancing responsibilities, and making the most of the post-secondary experience. Through open discussion and peer mentorship, students can gain practical insights, ask questions, and build meaningful connections with fellow Muslim students.
