Santas for Seniors

Santas for Seniors For seniors living in long-term care or on their own, the holidays and even everyday life can feel incredibly lonely. Want to get involved?

Santas for Seniors is a community initiative in Peel Region dedicated to bringing joy and connection to socially isolated seniors during the holidays—and now with Sunshine for Seniors in spring!
💚 We've supported over 10,000 Seniors since 2017!💚 Santas for Seniors is a volunteer-driven community initiative founded in 2017 with one simple goal: to bring comfort, connection, and joy to socially iso

lated seniors in the Peel Region—especially those with limited family support, mobility challenges, or lower incomes. Something as small as a handwritten card, a cozy blanket, or a thoughtful gift can make all the difference—it’s a reminder that someone sees them, values them, and cares. We partner directly with local long-term care and retirement homes to identify seniors who are most in need of a little extra love. Then, twice a year—during the holiday season and again in the spring—we invite our community to step in and help. Santas for Seniors (Winter Campaign)
This initiative has two tiers of support:

Personalized Gifts – Community members are matched with individual seniors, along with a short wish list. These requests are modest—slippers, a sweater, shampoo, or even colouring books. Each gift is as unique as the person receiving it. Smile Boxes – Pre-packed care packages with comforting essentials like snacks, puzzle books, personal care items, and a handwritten card. These are given to seniors who may not have a specific need, but could use a warm reminder that they’re not forgotten. Sunshine for Seniors (Spring Campaign)
Launched in 2024, this cheerful springtime extension brings sunshine in the form of decorated flower pots, living plants, and heartfelt notes. These little bursts of life and color bring smiles to rooms and hearts alike. Why It Matters
For the seniors we serve, these small gifts are far more than objects—they’re lifelines to the outside world, signs that they matter, and moments of joy in what can often feel like quiet days. And for our those in our community who support us, this is a chance to make a real, lasting difference. Whether you're a family, a classroom, a local business, or an individual—your involvement becomes part of someone’s story. Together, we've reached over 10,000 (yay!) seniors in Peel Region—and we’re just getting started. Visit our page to find out how you can help bring joy and connection to seniors in your community.
