The Muslim Association of Canada (MAC) has released a statement condemning Israel’s closure of Masjid Al-Aqsa in occupied Jerusalem and the ongoing restrictions preventing Muslim worshippers from accessing this sacred site.

MAC is calling on the Government of Canada to take a clear and principled stance in support of religious freedom and the protection of Masjid Al-Aqsa. The statement also raises concern over recent actions that threaten the sanctity of the site.

Masjid Al-Aqsa holds a sacred place in the hearts of Muslims worldwide, and ensuring access to places of worship remains a fundamental pillar of religious freedom and human dignity.

Open Door Visit to the Canadian Institute of Islamic Civilization

The MAC Montreal South Chapter is pleased to host an Open Door visit to the Canadian Institute of Islamic Civilization, welcoming members of McGill University’s Office of Religious and Spiritual Life and Concordia University’s Multi-Faith and Spiritual Center communities.

This visit offers an opportunity for interfaith and institutional exchange, providing space to learn about Islamic civilization, community initiatives, and the role of faith-based institutions in fostering dialogue, understanding, and social cohesion in Montreal.

The event will take place on Sunday, January 26th, from 2:45 PM to 5:00 PM at the Canadian Institute of Islamic Civilization. The event is organized by MAC Montreal South and is made possible in part through the support of a grant from the Canadian Race Relations Foundation.
