Yesterday I packaged more watercolour prints for The Vernie, located in Caledonia.

Some of you will remember my underwater lily pad photographs taken with my iPhone 13 in 2024.
I printed up a bunch and am obsessed how they turned out.

Happy first day of spring!
It’s been a long road to get back to my paint palette, from super busy weekends, a new job and some mental health thrown in there it was hard to even think about painting. For some art can be a therapy process, for me not so much. Being my own worst critic the concept of painting something ugly just didn’t compute, and would not have helped.
However I’m feeling good today, and the colours flowed like they were supposed to.. so here is my first original painting of 2026 on its way to the .verni today.
Inspired by Browns Lake in Middle Musquodoboit (aka Scout Camp Nadooae)

Also some prints from my favourite paintings I ever did, and a few minis for good measure. ❤️

My favourite room in my house, surrounded by my Grandparents furniture that I was so fortunate to inherit.
Although I have a Studio I never feel inspired to paint in it.

The ‘magic box desk’ okay, this desk has been in my family since the 1960’s when my mom first bought it.
It was in my room when I was growing up (closed up and locked)
When Mom moved here it ended up here and has been driving me insane.
It fit nowhere.
Last week was my final ditch effort to make use of this piece of cool (and annoying) furniture.

I think it’s finally going to work, I enjoyed painting at it. Everything was at hand, AND i even put my first camera which was my creative outlet at 16 right on top. 😊

I haven’t had a chance to paint for a couple of months, but I still find beauty around me and capture it for when I do have a chance to sit and lose myself in my paints.

Almost every Friday I have morning coffee with my ol’ buddy and dearest friend .

This last Friday we went on a little walk around the west end of Halifax. These little minis of flowers were from our walk. ❤️

The rain is working in my favour, I have been wanting to paint but outside has been calling me. So today is a creative day. Just me and and all my paints, watercolour, acrylic maybe I’ll even play with some oils, a strait up ADHD creative day aka a Ruth day!❤️

Winter is so cold, icy, and I’m over it 🙃 however on my drive up to the cottage yesterday evening I snapped this photo from the stream just down the road.
