We have reached the final phase of the ceiling repair at St Ninian's! Tate Construction is on site to replace insulation...inching us ever closer to completion! With all the excitement from uncovering precious artwork, it's important to remember how and why this project began - because we were in danger of losing the ceiling! So impressed by all contractors; by the generosity of the community and by the team of fundraisers behind the scenes!

Good morning, some showers this morning, then sun and cloud as the afternoon wears on. Temps today around 17 or so. We were talking about the ceiling restoration at St Ninian's. This morning we're seeing what the Leduc's Murals looks like with all the paint taken off. It's been a long process and one of the people involved with doing this is Michelle Gallinger pictured here with Ken Farrell who made the daring climb to the top. Very amazing art work. There will be an informal talk and Q-A on the history and restoration Thursday May 28th at 7 pm, St Ninian Cathedral Parish. Providing information will be Michelle Gallinger, the Project Supervisor and Lead Conservator, along with Dr Ruth del Fresno Guillem, Senior Art Conservator. Have a great day.

Join us this Thursday!! And don't forget to pick up a ticket on the Bronco! Not much time left!!

Story in the Herald:

Amanda Rundle was forty feet in the air and revealing the Eye of God on Monday afternoon. “It’s painstaking but satisfying when you reveal the brushstrokes,” said Rundle. “No-one has seen these in a lifetime.”
