Sermon: The Favour of God

1 Chronicles 16:7-22 (7) On that day David first delivered this psalm into the hand of Asaph and his brethren, to thank the Lord.

Whenever you advance in your faith remember the marvelous works of God upon your life and thank Him for His merciful intervention upon your very life. In this scriptures mentioned above, we understand that when God establishes a covenant, it is for a life time. Whatever you are going through in life, the mercies of God will always show up. Therefore allow the fruit of the Spirit to operate upon your life. Converse with God to confirm His Word by reminding Him of His promises He spoke upon your life.

Psalm 105:17-24 (Joseph). You cannot divorce/separate the favour of God from the vision He has given unto you. Joseph had to be patient so that God's favour rest upon him. Understand what God said upon your life through the trials and tribulations you are going through. His favour will take you to unpleasant places and your decisions should be aligned with the purposes of God no matter the circumstances. When the children of Israel left Eqypt, they left with silver and gold. So we must claim what is ours as God favours us: our health and riches, the blind eyes receiving sight and where darkess is, light should shine forth.

Luke 19:1-10 (Zacchaeus). Once God's favour locates you, opposition arises. Favour softens the heart of a man, as we see with the life of Zacchaeus. When you align with the purposes of God for your life, a shift of priorities begins to happen to focus upon your Lord and personal Saviour. He never viewed things with the carnal mind but as Christ did (Matthew 7:11-12).

Lastly John 8:1-12 (The adulteress). The Lord will lift up every burden upon your life and the Hand of the Lord will reach out to you, and that is His favour. When God appears, He will unlock every door so that you may be ushered to your heavenly blessings, clarity to the vision and mandate of God.

Luke 4:36 - Then they were all amazed and spoke among themselves, saying, “What a word this is! For with authority and power He commands the unclean spirits, and they come out.” (NKJV)

Take note that there is nothing to hard for the Lord our God, for all is possible for those who trust upon Him and having faith as a mustard seed. Remember this that those who spoke curses upon your life, they won't come to pass, for God has blessed you indeed and no man can curse. Also note that when you speak the word of healing from God through faith, things need to change. We have an example of Elisha when he purified the pot of stew which the sons of the prophets sliced a wild vine in it from 2 Kings 4:38-41.

The fallen state of man due to the sin nature has as made a man to have no regard for God. He wants to do things his own way and wants God to agree, NO. That should not be the case. When a man comes to God, he will be restored but not as a fallen man but transformed.

Sermon: Faith that is strong

Matthew 9:29, Then He touched their eyes, saying, “According to your faith let it be to you.” (NKJV)

The message delves into the importance of having a strong faith in God, it emphasizes that faith is essential in pleasing God and achieving the impossible in the life of a believer. The minister draws examples from scripture, such as the story of the two demon-possessed men in Matthew 8:28-34 who had unwavering faith in Jesus, and the faith of Noah in Genesis 6:9-22 who obeyed God's command to build an ark in a midst of a corrupt people. The message highlights the significance of (1) obedience in strengthening one's faith. It stresses that obedience to God's word is crucial in walking with the Lord and fulfilling His purpose for our lives. Also it emphasizes that obedience is better than sacrifice, and that true faith is demonstrated through actions and obedience to God's will.

Furthermore, we learn the importance of (2) trust in strengthening one's faith. Drawing from the story of Daniel in the same book that holds his name from 6:8-24, the minister illustrates how Daniel's unwavering trust in God led to his miraculous deliverance from the lion's den. The book encourages readers to trust in God's faithfulness and promises, even in the face of adversity. Additionally, the book explores the concept of (3) faith with goals, using the example of the two blind men in Matthew 9:27-31 who had a specific goal of receiving healing from Jesus. It emphasizes the importance of setting goals in faith and believing that God can work miracles in our lives when we trust Him wholeheartedly.Lastly, the message also touches on the idea of (4) working faith, as seen in the story of Jesus calming the storm in Luke 8:22-25. When we have faith in God's power and authority, we can overcome any obstacle or challenge that comes our way. We are encouraged to as believers to have a proactive faith that is willing to take risks in obedience

Sermon: The Holy Spirit is still speaking

The book of Revelation 2:11ª reads, He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. This verse serves as a call to pay attention to the messages and teachings that are being imparted to us by the Holy Spirit. Just as the children of Israel struggled to hear and understand the ways of God during their time in the wilderness, so too do we sometimes find it difficult to discern the truth amidst the noise of false teachings and doctrines that surround us.

The story of the Israelites serves as an example for the believers, reminding us of the dangers of allowing our minds to be clouded by the influences of the world. Just as the Israelites focused on their past suffering and oppression rather than looking towards the promise and the land of Canaan, we too can become distracted by the cares and concerns of this world, losing sight of the greater spiritual truths that God is revealing to us.

In order to truly hear and understand the messages of the Spirit, we must be willing to open our hearts and minds to the guidance of God. This means being diligent in our study of scripture, seeking to understand the deeper meanings and truths that lie within the written Word of God. It also means being discerning in our acceptance of teachings and doctrines, ensuring that they align with the counsel of God as revealed in His Word. Jeremiah 23:22, But if they had stood in My counsel, And had caused My people to hear My words, Then they would have turned them from their evil way And from the evil of their doings (NKJV).

As we strive to listen to what the Holy Spirit is saying to the churches, let us remember the importance of having spiritual ears that are attuned to the voice of God. By doing so, we can avoid the pitfalls of false teachings and doctrines, and instead walk in the light of God's truth, guiding us towards a deeper understanding of His will for our lives.

Sermon: The Healing Power of God (part 1)

God is Our Healer delves deep into the concept of God's healing power in every aspect of our lives. The message emphasizes that God is a covenant-keeping God who does not change, and His healing power is based on principles such as love, mercy, compassion, and promises. We are encouraged as the brethren to take God's Word personally in our lives and trust in His unchanging nature.

The book of 2 Kings 5:1, 14-17 about the story of Naaman and a captive young girl it illustrate how God can show Himself through despised individuals and how patience is tested in the process of healing. It is emphasized that taking action and moving according to the Word of God is essential for experiencing His healing power.

Isaiah 61:1 is highlighted as a key scripture that speaks to the holistic nature of God's healing, encompassing physical, emotional, psychological, and other facets of our lives. The book points to Jesus' fulfillment of this prophecy in Luke 4:18-19, demonstrating that God's total healing power is available to mankind through Him.

Additional scriptures on healing such as Hosea 6:1, Isaiah 53:5, and Matthew 19:23-26, further emphasize the importance of trusting in God's healing power. The language used throughout the book is clear and accessible, making it easy for readers to understand and apply the teachings to their own lives.

Overall, God is Our Healer serves as a powerful reminder of God's unwavering love and healing power, encouraging the brethren to trust in His promises and experience His transformative healing in every aspect of their lives.

Sermon: The Marks of a Christian (part 2)

Set the standard in your family and let not the Word of God not be set aside to follow the desires of our free will. Your choice needs to be divine by being branded by the Word of God and be identified that way. In reading Galations 5:13-26, we learn that in the fear of God, we would not dismiss nor cease to follow God but will have the fruit of the Spirit.

When people see you they should exprience God to the fullest and see His light, and this is possible by being rooted in the truth of His Word. In reading the book of Romans 12:6ª which notes - Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them... (NKJV), should be used according to the will of God that others may be encouraged and nourished in that order. Lastly note that the church needs to be health in the operations of the Spirit.

Sermon: The Marks of a Christian (part 1)

The mark of a Christian is the love of God and the fear of God. The love of God should extend from you to others and the fear of God should be us walking in the path of godliness. The Holy Spirit is our Counselor and He convicts us of judgment, sin and righteousness. Therefore we should not harden our hearts nor compromise.

Song of Solomon 2:15 reads, Catch us the foxes, The little foxes that spoil the vines, For our vines have tender grapes (NKJV). Picture yourself as the grapes that the inserts come to attack in the vine, and little foxes being anything from doubt, rebellion or anger. The hardness of heart will mean love won't be shown forth to your brethren. The little foxes take the joy of your strength. But on the other side we learn that the mark of a Christian is seeing victory in the midst of failure. Character matters as a Christian, how you look at things, and your position in Christ. So let your way of life speak volume, and live for Christ.

Jeremiah 18 speaks about the porter, and in this case about our Jesus Christ who moulds us. He desires' that we be separate from the world as the three hebrews boys who never wanted to associate with idol worship. We are purchased by the blood of Jesus and bought near the Presence of God, and as a city visible to all, the light of Christ should shine that those in darkness may see the works of God in us.

Additional scriptures:
Philippians 4:12-13, trust always upon the Lord and never turn back in serving the Lord. Galations 5:13-26, my liberty in Christ should be within the confinement of the Word of God.

Pastor K. E. Mathafeni
Sermon: At His Word

I Samuel 1:17, Then Eli answered and said, “Go in peace, and the God of Israel grant your petition which you have asked of Him.” The message delves into the power of God's Word and the importance of believing in it. The emphasizes is the significance of trusting in God's promises and standing firm in faith.

On the above scripture, Eli blesses Hannah and assures her that God will grant her petition. It highlights the faithfulness of God to His Word, emphasizing that He always keeps His promises and stands by them. Further explains that God is the Word itself, as stated in John 1:1 and encourages us as the church to trust in His Word.

In the book of Isaiah 53:1-5, it talks about the sacrifice of Jesus Christ for humanity's well-being, explaining that through Christ's sacrifice, the curtain separating humanity from God's presence was torn, allowing believers to access His presence. He emphasizes the importance of believing in the Word of God and trusting in His timing, as a reminder not to be overcome by fear, as fear is a hindrance to receiving God's blessings.

In 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, see the power of being thankful and full of gratitude; we read of words and the impact they have on one's faith. He warns against speaking negatively, as it can hinder the manifestation of miracles, but to speak words of faith and trust in God's promises, as faith comes by hearing. God's Word has the power to restore and bring about miracles, as seen in Joel 2:25-26.

Your Presence
Minister: W. Mathafeni

Exodus 33:15, Then he (Moses) said to Him, “If Your Presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here. (NKJV)

The Presence of God is most essential for the believer in the Lord Jesus. Even the patriarch Moses acknowledged God during the encounter with Him during the burning bush. For he knew he would not lead such a vast nation of the children of Israel without His Presence. When Jesus was crucified He carried the Presence of God, for Him and the Father are One. Had they knew as the scripture notes, they would not have crucified Him (1 Cori. 2:8).

Jesus gave the scribes and Pharisees a sign of His death through the story of Jonah but neither of them understood the message from Matthew 12:39-40. The Presence of God was with Jonah in the belly of the fish the same as during the death of Jesus. Jonah 2:4 reads, Then I said, I have been cast out of Your presence and Your sight; yet I will look again toward Your holy temple (AMPC). All they required was the wisdom of God in order to interpret the scripture from the recent account that occured. His Presence was never extinguished. Read the story of Obed-Edom from II Samuel 6:10-12 of how the Presence of God blessed his family.

Also note that the Presence of God seperates you from the face of the earth (Exo. 33:16ᵇ), you become instinctly unique as you carry the Holy Spirit who makes His abode in you as His temple.

King David was a friend of God and reading Psalms 51:11, he prayed unto Him that He should not, cast me (him) away from Your (His) Presence, And do not take Your (His) Holy Spirit from me (him) [NKJV]. He understood that through the Presence of God, he would win battles and conquer territories. The same Presence of God through the Holy Spirit works in us.
