UNDERSTANDING GOD’S TIMING
1. Time as Creation
Time was created by God and everything on earth operates according to His divine order and purpose. The Bible teaches that every season in life has meaning and direction under God’s plan.
Genesis 1:1
Ecclesiastes 3:1
Luke 12:54-56
2. Two Concepts of Time
• Chronos – This refers to normal chronological time such as days, months, and years. It is the natural flow of time experienced by humanity.
Acts 13:18
Acts 27:9
• Kairos – This refers to God’s appointed time or divine opportunity. It is the moment when God reveals His purpose and moves according to His will.
Mark 1:15
Romans 5:6
3. Divine Timing and Sovereignty
God is sovereign over time and nothing happens outside His control. Even in moments of waiting, God is working behind the scenes for the fulfillment of His purpose.
Isaiah 46:10
Psalm 31:15
4. Examples of Divine Timing in Scripture
Throughout the Bible, God fulfilled His promises at the appointed time. Joseph became a ruler after years of waiting, Abraham received Isaac in old age, and Jesus Christ came at the fullness of time. God is never late.
1 Chronicles 29:11
Psalm 97:1
5. Living in God’s Timing
Believers are called to trust God, remain patient, and walk by faith. Delays do not mean denial because God’s promises always come to pass in the right season.
Habakkuk 2:3
Proverbs 3:5-6
6. The Mystery of Eternity
God exists beyond time and reveals His eternal plan through Jesus Christ. Eternity reminds us that God’s purpose is greater than the present moment.
Colossians 1:26-27
Romans 16:25-26
God’s timing is perfect. Trust the process, trust the season, and trust the One who controls time itself.
