Day 1/365
Start with the end in mind
Luke 9:61
At the start of any great venture it is advised to count the cost. Take yourself out and be with yourself only. Meditate on the work at hand. Ask yourself honest and pertinent questions. Envision the completed product and the begin to work backwards. That way you are able to see the details of what is to come. You are able to count the cost including time, in/convenience, and all other inputs. When that is done, begin to work towards the perceived end. Now refering to the cost of following him, Jesus said “No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God.” (Luke 9:61) This is because one has not only to count the cost, but also to bear the cost.
Whatever it is you are looking forward to achieving in 2023, you must be willing to work at it. You must be willing to count the cost and also to bear the cost. The Lord promises to be with you till the end of time. Therefore, no matter how huge the cost seems to be, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Be not wise in your own eyes, fear the Lord, and turn away from evil" (Proverbs 3:5 - 7).
May the blessings of the new year be upon you and your family.
