The Rocks Family in Brazil This page is a way of keeping up with our news, praying and supporting us whilst we live and work in Brazil as missionary with CMS

Hi All

As many of you know next year our family will be moving to Brazil as mission partners of CMS. Our plan is to be involved in outreach and church planting. As things stand at the moment we are planning on moving to Florianópolis, where I spent sometime last September meeting with Christian leaders in order to get a feel for the needs and opportunities in the city. The south of Brazil is a re

gion in need of missional efforts, with less thriving churches compared to other regions in Brazil. Like all large Brazilian city there is a large gap between rich and poor and a variety of social problems. Florianópolis has the nick name, 'ilha da magia' (island of magic), a reference to the occult activity contributing to the spiritual climate on the island. We’re excited by the prospect of ministering the light of Jesus there, offering prayer on the streets for people, discipling folk who come to faith, forming new church communities and partnering with churches in their outreach and offering training in different forms of evangelism. Katia is excited about the prospect of using her legal skills to help those in need and working with families to strengthen marriages and family life. We will keep this page updated with our posts and videos of our news and prayer requests as we prepare to go to Brazil and whilst we are out in Brazil. As well as prayer support we also need to raise financial support through link churches and individual supporters in order to support ourselves and our work whilst we are in Brazil. We indeed are so full of joy. The Lord is always in control of everything and a new season is on for us over here. On this last weekend there were 3 people baptised. 11 couples taking part in a marriage event and a lovely Sunday morning service followed by a bbq at church.
We love you Lord and are so blessed for everything you are doing 🙏

This morning Vineyard Floripa organised an as new sale with donations from the congregation, to raise money for a young couple from church going to serve and do mission in Kenya.
It was a morning full of sales, chats, meetings and prayers, celebrating God’s kingdom here and in others nations where God is already working and is calling us to take part with Him.
Everyone who came to buy something got prayed for, and they were happy to be able to bless God’s mission.
