Luke 10:19 (KJV) says: "Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you."
"Behold, I give unto you power," meaning that a particular power is needed, is necessary to trample upon three categories of powers:
Power to tread on serpents. Let me let you understand that the procedure to tread on a serpent is not very, very easy. It is actually very violent. If, for example, a snake crawls under your seat now and you see it, I suspect that you will not try to trample on it for fear that it may bite your leg if you miss it. You will instead get a stick. So the procedure to trample upon a serpent and deal with it is very violent, very technical, and very strategic indeed.
Scorpions.
All the power of the enemy.
Now, as many as are in this service and you want a particular anointing to settle upon your life where you are seated, you will now personalise this promise louder than anyone around you: "Behold, God has given unto me power to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt me." Listen: our Lord Jesus opened our understanding about so many things on spiritual warfare. There were so many things that were unclear to the Old Testament people. But when Jesus came, He began to explain and throw light. For example, when the devil was destroying Job's things, he thought it was God. So the devil was able to hide in the Old Testament.
It was when Jesus came that He exposed him. Jesus taught us so many things about spiritual warfare.
We are getting somewhere tonight. I want you to pay close attention. In the Old Testament, they played music to arrest demons.
