আনাস (রা:) বলেছেন, রাসূলুল্লাহ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম মদীনায় পৌঁছে দেখতে পান যে, সেখানকার অধিবাসীরা দুইটি দিন (নওরোজ ও মেহেরজান) খেলাধুলা ও আনন্দ-উৎসব করে থাকে। তিনি জিজ্ঞেস করেন, এই দুটি দিন কীসের? তারা বলে, জাহেলী যুগে আমরা এই দুই দিন খেলাধুলা ও উৎসব করতাম। রাসূলুল্লাহ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম বলেন, আল্লাহ তাআলা তোমাদেরকে এই দুই দিনের পরিবর্তে অন্য দুটি উত্তম দিন দান করেছেন। আর তা হলো, ঈদুল আযহা (কুরবানীর ঈদ) এবং ঈদুল ফিত্বর (রামাযানের ঈদ)’।

ইবনু উমার (রা:) সূত্রে বর্ণিত। তিনি বলেন, রাসূলুল্লাহ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম বলেছেনঃ যে ব্যক্তি বিজাতির সাদৃশ্য অবলম্বন করে, সে তাদের দলভুক্ত গণ্য হবে।

As we celebrate, let’s not forget, Eid is not a day to fall into disobedience. Be mindful of what you wear, what you say, and your prayers. Don’t let today take you away from your standards.
Celebrating in Islam isn’t about compromising your religion, it’s about thanking Allah for allowing us to complete these blessed days. As the Messenger ﷺ taught, these are days of eating, drinking, and remembering Allah.
So eat, enjoy, and stay grateful, but keep your tongue busy with remembrance of Allah, not speech that harms. Don’t forget Allah on the day meant to remember Him most.
