The issue is whether we believe this; Or just say by word of mouth? If we continue to believe this, why are we not able to ensure women's safety in the home and outside even in this age? Major newspapers, online platforms feature women's songs on these days, although there is no real reflection on other days of the year. Sexual harassment of women is happening in offices, courts, hospitals, sports grounds, vehicles and even at home. Therefore, in this year's organization of Apara, there is freedom from oppression and torture of women.
According to a survey by Working Women and Care Bangladesh, 12.70% of women in Bangladesh are victims of sexual harassment at work. Whether it's at school or at home, women are sexually harassed by those close to them.
So where is the solution? Tougher punishment through law enforcement? no In addition to ensuring punitive measures, there should be a change in mindset. To uncover the root problem we have to feel that sexually abused women are our own mother, sister or family. If the relationship between men and women becomes "predator and hunter" or "food and eater" then coexistence is not possible, building a civilized society is not possible.
Therefore, a humble request to all of us from the side of "others", if we understand "women" as mothers, daughters, sisters, wives, then let us make all efforts to prevent "women abuse"; And if we fail in that, then there will be nothing to do except to accept the responsibility of crying and lamenting behind the smiling faces of all women.
