Members of Bangladesh's Hindu community held a massive torchlight procession in Dhaka, protesting against the alleged insult of Lord Ram and demanding the immediate arrest of those responsible.

The protest was triggered after the construction of a Lord Ram idol at the Sanatan Complex in Polash Bari, Gaibandha, was halted following alleged unrest, sparking anger among members of the Hindu community.

The torchlight march began from Shahbagh Intersection, moved through Shahbagh Square, and proceeded via Matsya Bhaban to the National Press Club. During the procession, participants raised slogans including "Jai Shri Ram" and called for justice and protection of religious rights.

Protesters demanded strict action against those involved in the alleged incident and urged authorities to ensure that religious projects and places of worship can function without disruption.

The demonstration is among the latest expressions of concern by Bangladesh's Hindu community over issues related to religious freedom and protection of minority rights.
