Today is World Toilet Day. The health of millions of people in the growing urban slums of Bangladesh is threatened by bad f***l sludge management as traditional latrines don't get rid of harmful substances well enough. ICCO Cooperation in Bangladesh, together with partners - iDE and DSK, and with funding from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, does research on low cost, environment friendly toilet technologies in urban slums of Dhaka. Successful technologies - built with low cost local materials, can potentially benefit millions of people in the future.

A national level workshop was organized within the project "Parents-leaders in building an inclusive society" supported by ICCO Cooperation and Bread for the World. The workshop gathered state and civil society stakeholders to tackle the purpose to improve the quality of medical care and identify risk groups of autistic children in the Kyrgyz Republic.
Based on the data provided by Ministry of Health in Kyrgyzstan the number of autistic children is only 74 children in the beginning of 2014, although they are actually much more as many of these children are diagnosed of autism outside of the country and go unregistered.
