It is noted that Sasan Bihar is famous for it's Mahaparinirvana Buddha statue, which was the longest one at that time and one of the oldest PARINIRVAN MELA for 3 days during Maghi Purnima every year. Also this bihar (temple) has the biggest Simaghar (ghyang), built by the founder in 1941. This bihar (temple) had been establisted on a buddhist graveyard (sasan) in 1941, thats why the name Sasan Bihar.
