West Gong Youth

West Gong Youth This year, we are expanding our Youth Group ideas and activites to appeal to a wider range of young people in our area. Therese Church, West Wollongong. Want in?

The Youth Group has been running since 2005, connecting kids from as early as year 5 onwards from a whole range of parishes, schools, communities and religions. We continue to run Junior Youth Group, for those in grades 5-8, once a term after our Youth Mass. Juniour Youth Group starts at 6pm and general finishes at 7.30pm on a Sunday night. There is always parent supervision (you have to be signed

in and out) and the kids have lots of fun playing games, or watching movies and having dinner together. Activities vary from month to month and details will be posted on Facebook. For our school-leavers, those aged 18 and above we are commencing a social group, that will meet once a month. Please email us if you would like any more information. We are also continuing with our Youth Masses, on the third Sunday of each month, at the 5pm Mass at St. Masses are completely non-compulsory. The music for Mass this year has been provided by various high schools. Finally stay tuned for our upcoming events for our Senior Youth Group, for those in grades 9-12! Sure, no problem. Dates will be posted continually on our page and what's planned for those dates. Have an idea for an upcoming event? Sweet, post any ideas you've got on our wall, we'd love to hear them.

Today is the feast of St Catherine of Sienna! St Catherine is one of only four women considered Doctors of the Church.

Catherine was a tertiary Dominican reformer of the church. She is credited with composing over 400 letters to Popes and Bishops, her Dialogue, which is her definitive work, and prayers. These works are so influential that St. Catherine would later be declared a Doctor of the Church.

She is known for her fierce loyalty to the church and for her willingness to speak boldly to clerical leaders in the hopes of challenging church corruption and fostering unity.

St Catherine, pray for us!
