HBCC Easter services: Our Good Friday service is contemporary and includes The Lord’s Supper. Easter Sunday is a contemporary celebration of the resurrection of Christ - singing, prayer, the quiz, readings, and the topic: A new world order? Both services start at 9.30am. Come and take time out to nurture your spirit.
Our Tenth annual Easter Art Exhibition and Sale is on from Friday 3rd to Mon 6th April. This year it will feature the works of Arron Davies, Denny Hoffman, Deb Johnston, Melissa Johnston, Howard Kaplan, Kerrie Pentecost, Annie Reid, Chris Woulfe, and John Woulfe. A talented local lineup! Curated by Heidi and hosted by our volunteers.
Hours: Open Friday & Sunday from 11.00am to 5pm; Saturday from 9am to 5pm; Monday from 9am to 2pm. Purchases can be made on site during these times.
Entry to the exhibition is free. Plenty of street parking available.
There will be a “Meet the Artists” drinks event held in the venue on Saturday from 5pm to 7pm. Bubbles and nibbles provided.

Sunday mornings as usual
Our long-serving pastor has recently retired, and our church family is now searching for our next leader.

Our worship services are being held as usual – 9.30am.
During February, some of our church family are sharing their faith journey.

From March, a range of visiting preachers will teach us from God’s Word – including Stephen Hinks, who is still a member of our church family.

An invitation to The God Conversation

Who wants to believe in a God like that?

Sundays, 9.30am, 16 November to 7 December

There seem to be things in the Christian Bible that give a picture of God which frankly doesn’t appeal to us eg God in the Old Testament.

Our church wants to confront some of the questions about God that bother us – eg sending people to hell.​You are warmly invited to join us.

Over four Sunday mornings we’ll try to answer some of these questions, and invite discussion as we pass the microphone around. Here are the dates and topics:

16 Nov​​Whatever we believe is okay – all religions have the same goal?
​​(Is every religion a way to arrive at God; is one God more important?)

23 Nov ​Why is the God of the Old Testament so different from Jesus?
​​(The OT God is angry & violent, incompatible with a good & loving Christ.)

30 Nov​​The disturbing appeasement of God by crucifying his son.
​​(What sort of God has his own son killed to appease his “divine wrath”?)

7 Dec​​ Good people go to heaven; bad people go to hell – really?
​​(What sort of God sends people to heaven or hell?)

Our church services on these Sundays, at 9.30am, will be user-friendly and feature a presentation and discussion on these topics, followed by morning tea (finish by 11am).

Inspiring Women is an event for women from our community to come to hear another’s story, except this time we have more of an information morning around Women’s Health. Veronica came in October last year and it was a very informative morning, she was so easy to listen to and with so many helpful tips - so we have her returning - details on flyer.
