📜 From the Second Vatican Council's pastoral constitution "Gaudium et spes" on the Church in the modern world

✝️ Man, created in God’s image, has been commissioned to master the earth and all it contains, and so rule the world in justice and holiness. He is to acknowledge God as the creator of all, and to see himself and the whole universe in relation to God, in order that all things may be subject to man, and God’s name be an object of wonder and praise over all the earth.

This commission extends to even the most ordinary activities of everyday life. Where men and women, in the course of gaining a livelihood for themselves and their families, offer appropriate service to society, they can be confident that their personal efforts promote the work of the Creator, confer benefit on their fellow-men, and help to realise God’s plan in history.

So far from thinking that the achievements gained by man’s abilities and strength are in opposition to God’s power, or that man with his intelligence is in some sense a rival to his Creator, Christians are, on the contrary, convinced that the triumphs of the human race are a sign of God’s greatness and the effect of his wonderful providence.

The more the power of men increases, the wider is the scope of their responsibilities, as individuals and as communities.

It is clear, then, that the Christian message does not deflect men from the building up of the world, or encourage them to neglect the good of their fellow-men, but rather places on them a stricter obligation to work for these objectives.

✝️ From a sermon by Saint Peter Damian,

"Dear brothers, our joy in today’s feast is heightened by our joy in the glory of Easter, just as the splendour of a precious jewel enhances the beauty of its gold setting.

Saint George was a man who abandoned one army for another: he gave up the rank of tribune to enlist as a soldier for Christ. Eager to encounter the enemy, he first stripped away his worldly wealth by giving all he had to the poor. Then, free and unencumbered, bearing the shield of faith, he plunged into the thick of the battle, an ardent soldier for Christ.

Clearly what he did serves to teach us a valuable lesson: if we are afraid to strip ourselves of our worldly possessions, then we are unfit to make a strong defence of the faith.

As for Saint George, he was consumed with the fire of the Holy Spirit. Armed with the invincible standard of the cross, he did battle with an evil king and acquitted himself so well that, in vanquishing the king, he overcame the prince of all wicked spirits, and encouraged other soldiers of Christ to perform brave deeds in his cause. . .

. . . Dear brothers, let us not only admire the courage of this fighter in heaven’s army but follow his example. Let us be inspired to strive for the reward of heavenly glory, keeping in mind his example, so that we will not be swayed from our path, though the world seduce us with its smiles or try to terrify us with naked threats of its trials and tribulations. . .

. . . Anyone who wishes to offer himself to God in the tent of Christ, which is the Church, must first bathe in the spring of holy baptism; then he must put on the various garments of the virtues. As it says in the Scriptures: Let your priests be clothed in justice. He who is reborn in baptism is a new man. He may no longer wear the things that signify mortality. He has discarded the old self and must put on the new. He must live continually renewed in his commitment to a holy sojourn in this world.

I have a ❗️PRAYER REQUEST❗️ to ask of you.
Please read this whole caption and like this post if you can fulfill the request. Please also pass this on to other men of faith you know.

Robert Falzon founder of MenAlive Austraila reached out to maximus men's ministry asking if we could get 1000 men to pray for men’s ministry in Poland. See summary of request below.

Robert mentioned that Michal Piekara from Poland contacted him (He found him at menALIVE on the internet), and he has walked with him for nearly two years.
They have shared much about life, men's ministry, and the possibilities in Poland. He went to see his Bishop, Krzysztof Wlodarczyk, and proposed that they host a men's ministry event in their region.

Well, they went to work, and now they have a 2-day men’s event called menALIVE Poland. The event dates are 18/19th of April.
The first day is titled “ The Heart of the Father and the second day is Living in the Father's Love. There are already about 200 men registered, and they are pushing hard to try and gather 1000 men in POLAND. WOW.

They challenged Robert -- “Can you please ask 1,000 men in Australia to pray for these Polish brothers? "
Men of Australia!! Will you pray for just 1 minute for this men's gathering in POLAND (1 Our Father, 1 Hail Mary, 1 Glory be) ???? 🙏

Alleluia, Alleluia, He has truely risen as He said!

✝️ Easter, the "Feast of feasts" and "Solemnity of solemnities," stands as the liturgical year's radiant pinnacle, commemorating Christ's Resurrection as the triumphant fulfillment of the Paschal Mystery. By this, death is destroyed and life restored, infusing all time with victorious hope. These salvific events make up the core kerygma of salvation, justification, and eternal passage after life's suffering.

✝️ Its unparalleled importance lies in this event's historical reality, verified by the Gospels' accurate portrayal of the events surrounding the Resurrection, namely that:

1. the disciples were demoralised and dismissed the Resurrection as thier first response;

2. They experienced radical transformation after personal encounters with the risen Christ;

3. Thier willingness to die for their testimony in the Resurrection; and

4. The multiple eyewitness accounts of the risen Christ.

These are plausible reasons testifying that the Resurrection really happened, grounding faith in verifiable fact rather than myth.

📖 Scholarly analysis affirms the Gospels' substantial historical reliability as rooted in eyewitness sources with controlled transmission, and minimal creative divergence, which best explains early Christianity's shift, focusing on eternal reality rather than temporal.

🙏Ave Maria

🙏Paise and glory to our Lord Jesus Christ, King of Heaven and Earth.

✝️ Holy Saturday is a day of profound silence and stillness as the Church keeps prayerful vigil at the Lord's tomb, meditating on Christ's Passion, Death, and Descent into hell in anticipation of the Resurrection. Today embodies God's hiddenness with a focus on Christ's solidarity with human death, the greatest tragity.

🙏⚰️ 🛏 Christ's repose within the tomb is the great Sabbath rest, fulfilling and transcending Old Testament foreshadows: 1. God's rest on the seventh day after creation, echoed in 2. the Sabbath commandment as a sign of sanctification and covenant. Just as the Sabbath commanded cessation from labour to commemorate divine rest and liberation, Christ's "sabbath" in the tomb marks definitive peace and freedom, while transforming God's apparent absence into merciful expectation.

🙏🔇Our Lady’s faithful silence amid darkness is an icon of hope, pointing towards the luminous promise of Resurrection and eternal repose.

✝️ Good Friday, known historically as the anniversary of Jesus Christ's Crucifixion, centres on the Church's solemn commemoration of the Lord's Passion and redemptive Death, inviting us to meditate deeply on human sin, Christ's innocent suffering, and the salvation won through his sacrificial love. Its profound significance lies in revealing the Father's mercy via the Cross and not as a mere symbol of condemnation, but as a sign of hope, source of life, peace, and reconciliation. The Cross is the instrument that transforms humanity from being enemies of God to a part of God's family that is fulfilled in the triumphant Resurrection.

🙏The liturgy emphasises the Passion narrative, Adoration of the Holy Cross, and Holy Communion reserved on Holy Thursday.  It's complemented by popular devotions like processions and the Way of the Cross, which foster contemplation of the pierced Savior as the ultimate witness of Love.

✝️ Maundy Thursday, observed as the Evening Mass of the Lord's Supper, commemorates the events of the Upper Room on the night before Christ's Passion, weaving together the institution of the Eucharist; the ministerial priesthood; and the new commandment of fraternal love through the washing of the feet. These themes are central to the Paschal Triduum and Catholic faith, emphasising Christ's self-gift in the sacraments and service, and made efficacious by His sacrifice on the Cross and Resurrection. They highlight the core of Catholicism: the Eucharist as the source and summit of the Church's life.

🪔🙏The Chrism Mass, traditionally celebrated on Holy Thursday morning deepens the theme of the ministerial priesthood instituted by Christ in the Upper Room, extending its sacramental fruits through the blessing of oils and renewal of priestly commitments in service to the Eucharist and fraternal charity. The Chrism Mass is thus a prelude to the Paschal Triduum, manifesting the Church's hierarchical communion rooted in Christ's priestly self-offering.

🙏 All Angels and Saints,
