This ANZAC Day, as we remember all those who have served and serve currently in our defence forces, we also hold in our prayers those people around the world currently impacted by the horrors of war and conflict.

Let us pray.

O God, our ruler and guide,
in whose hands are the destinies of this and every nation,
we give you thanks for the freedoms we enjoy in this land
and for those who laid down their lives to defend them:
We pray that we and all the people of Australia,
gratefully remembering their courage and their sacrifice,
may have grace to live in a spirit of justice,
of generosity, and of peace;
through Jesus Christ our Lord,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.
Amen.

Right across the Diocese, parishes and communities have celebrated the gift and joy of Easter 2026.

Hundreds of people from different parts of Perth, and visitors from the East and around the world filled St George’s Cathedral for services right across this wonderful time in the liturgical calendar.

This photo of Bishop Hans and I may have been before dawn, in preparation for the Easter Vigil, but the wide smiles tell the story. He is risen, Alleluia.
