A Seniors' Morning Tea with Jennifer Eriksson

Jenny looks forward to sharing how her music life and faith have worked together to make her who she is today.
Jenny is Australia's only electric viola da gambist and the morning will include her performing some of her favourite music on the viola da gamba.

Come along, enjoy a cuppa and light refreshments, and connect with others in our community. Everyone is warmly welcome!

RYDE WOMEN'S HUB 🌺🌿

When: Wednesday 21 October, 12:30pm - 2:30pm
Where: CABC hall, 1 Reserve St, West Ryde
What: “A Little Connection Goes a Long Way” Have some fun creating paper chains to decorate with at our end of year celebration.

Ryde Women’s Hub is a safe, welcoming and fun place for women to meet their neighbours. The group meets weekly on Wednesdays during term and connects over arts and crafts. There are also a collection of sewing machines that women in the community are able to use.

The women who attend come from diverse backgrounds and are looking to build friendships in the community.

Whether you’ve been with us from the beginning or are thinking about joining for the very first time, there is a seat at the table with your name on it.

Remember to bring a project or hobby to work on while you chat, or take part in the activities on offer on the day.

4 November: Annual “Queen of the Fascinator” competition!

❤️ Information on how to volunteer together at the Ryde Salvos Christmas warehouse, distributing toys, gifts and food to families in need will be available soon!

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER FOR THE PERSECUTED CHURCH

PRAY FOR ASIA - NORTH KOREA

North Korea is arguably the most dangerous place on earth to follow Jesus. If someone is discovered to be Christian, the consequences include imprisonment in a notorious labour camp with little hope of release, or immediate ex*****on. The same fate likely awaits other family members.
With watchful eyes everywhere—including neighbours and family—the slightest hint of worshipping Jesus can have devastating consequences. Remarkably, believers do gather, but in utmost secrecy and at enormous risk.

PRAY
💙 For God to protect the small, secret communities of faith in North Korea and pour out His perfect peace on them
💙 For those lacking food, that God will meet their every need
💙 For God to change the hearts of the ruling regime, just as He changed Paul’s heart

Thank you for petitioning God on behalf of our persecuted family.

We’re so excited to be kicking off kids ministry again this Sunday! A new term, new memories, lots of fun, and most importantly, growing together in our love for Jesus!

We can’t wait to see all our kids back, ready to worship, learn God’s Word, make friends, and discover just how much God loves them!

Tim Macbride is the Principal of Morling College, where he has been lecturing in New Testament and Preaching since 2008. Prior to that, he was on the pastoral team at Narwee Baptist Church for more than a decade.

He's the author of two books on preaching: Catching the Wave and To Aliens and Exiles.

Tim is married to Samantha and they have two adult sons.
