Guys are sad too

Guys are sad too 𝒴ℴ𝓊 𝒶𝓇ℯ 𝓁ℴ𝓋ℯ𝒹 𝒶𝓁𝓌𝒶𝓎𝓈. ♡ Guys Are Sad Too was first started in April 2019 after my own personal experience with Mental Health and Suicide Attempts.

I am a ICT Support Officer in Regional Western Australia, & I have always been passionate about igniting the conversation around Men's Mental Health. I have volunteered to helping Mental Health programs to raise awareness & funds for major & small charities such as Beyond Blue, Black Dog Society, Lifeline and Shaka Project. I really enjoy doing this, and helping others on their journey. Since sta

rting Guys Are Sad Too, I have been fortunate enough to grow a social media community of over 445 thousand people, whom I interact with on a daily basis. We have had people from Australia, USA, New Zealand and have even reached the UK, Sweden, Italy & Germany. Our social media platform is used to continue the conversation around Mental Health and the importance of speaking up - we project this through our social media posts, and soon to be website. This page is designed to ignite the conversation around Mental Health & encourage more conversation in the workplace, sporting clubs, schools & your local community about the topic of Men's Mental Health. My inbox is available to anyone if they are experiencing some Mental Health issues or need a genuine conversation. I personally would you like to thank you for supporting this page & helping us ignite the conversation.

June is Men’s Mental Health Month.

Just a reminder to my fellow men—whether you’re struggling silently or carrying the weight on your shoulders for all to see—you are seen, you are heard, and you are not alone.

It doesn’t make you weak to reach out. It doesn’t make you any less of a man to open up to your mates, your family, a professional—or even just to admit to yourself that things are heavy right now.

Having emotions doesn’t make you broken. Crying doesn’t make you soft. Being vulnerable takes strength—and it’s one of the bravest things you can do.

Too many of us have been taught to tough it out, stay quiet, and push through. But silence can be heavy. Talking can save lives—yours and someone else’s.

This month, and every month, check in on your mates. Ask the second “How are you really?” And if you’re the one who’s hurting—don’t be afraid to speak up. There’s power in your voice.

Guys are sad too. And that’s okay. Let’s make space for real conversations, real feelings, and real healing.
