TAYLOR HAWKINS Will Appear Posthumously in TRAVIS BARKER Documentary “Louder Than Fear”
Late Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins will appear posthumously in “Travis Barker: Louder Than Fear,” an upcoming 90-minute film about the Blink-182 musician’s life and career.
The official trailer reveals that Hawkins, who died in 2022, is among those interviewed for the project. Barker’s Blink-182 bandmates also appear in the film.
The documentary will chronicle Barker’s rise to fame, the 2008 plane crash that nearly killed him, and the “raw and redemptive journey” that followed.
“This is the story of the man behind the tattoos. A tribute to those who keep going when the music almost stops,” the synopsis reads.
“He just had this, ‘Oh, you’re gonna get picked up by a band, and you will be a star attraction’ [quality],” Hawkins can be heard saying in the movie’s trailer.
Following Hawkins’ death in March 2022, Barker shared an Instagram tribute reflecting on how the Foo Fighters drummer encouraged him before his career took off.
“I’ll never forget Laguna Beach days when I was a trash man playing in a punk rock band and you were playing with Alanis,” Barker wrote on at the time. “You’d come watch me play in dive bars and be like, ‘kid you’re a star’. And I thought you were crazy but you gave me so much hope and determination. Years later we toured together with Blink and Foo’s in Australia and I have the best memories of smoking ci******es in the restroom of flights we were on together and watching your set every night. To say I’ll miss you my friend isn’t enough. Till the next time we talk drums and smoke in the boys room … Rest In Peace.”
“Travis Barker: Louder Than Fear” will be released on Hulu and Disney+ on Aug. 13th.
