We perform for validation, driven by pride and insecurity. This deep-seated need for acceptance stems from a wound of not feeling loved. We may seek belonging in faith or outward image, but the orphan heart constantly scans for reassurance: Do I belong? Am I loved? This inner longing prevents true rest.
