St Thomas Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church Melbourne Welcome to the page of St. Thomas Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church, Melbourne. St. The church named after St. The vicar and the managing committee of St.

Thomas Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church Melbourne is an independent church affiliated with the Malankara Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church in India, which recognizes Holy Apostolic See of Antioch and all the East, His Holiness Moran Mor Ignatius Aphrem II as its supreme head and His Beatitude Catholicos Baselios Thomas I as the spiritual head in India. Thomas, the Apostle of India, is most known for

how he is portrayed in the Gospel of John, he first appears as a symbol of strength, encouraging the others to follow Jesus to Judea where death awaits. Later he expresses doubts about following Jesus. Finally, after Jesus resurrection, he is the “doubting Thomas” who refused to believe that Jesus had been raised from the dead. He insisted: “Unless I see the marks of the nails in his hands, and put my hand into the wound in his side, I will not believe.” If he doubted, he also believed! He made what is certainly the most explicit statement of faith, St. Thomas the apostle cries out “My Lord and My God.”(John 20:28) this is the clearest affirmation of the divinity of Christ something which none of the other apostles had done and in so expressing his faith, gave Christians a prayer that will be said till end of the time. We have a weekly service on Sunday morning to fulfil the needs of the growing Malankara Syrian Jacobite Christian community in the north western suburb of Melbourne, Australia. Thomas Jacobite Syrian church Melbourne would like to welcome all to our congregation. We wish you all the best and God’s blessings now and always. Let the Lord Almighty shower his blessings abundantly on this humble congregation through the years and the parish continues to prosper through the intercession of the Holy Virgin Mary, Mother of God and its patron saint, St. Thomas.

“..Whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16

✨ Honouring a Blessed Era of Spiritual Leadership and Growth ✨

As the term of our beloved Vicar, Rev. Fr. Dr. Fr.Jacob Joseph (Saji Achan), concludes this week, the Managing Committee and the entire parish community of St. Thomas Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church, Dallas, unite in deep gratitude.

Over the past six years, our parish has truly experienced the "Golden Era" of St. Thomas Jacobite Church, Dallas. Under Achan's faithful service, vision, and spiritual leadership, we have grown remarkably—both in spirit and in structure. This historic chapter was beautifully marked by the acquisition of our new church building and its glorious Holy Consecration by the hands of His Holiness the Patriarch.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Deepa Ammayi for her unwavering dedication and constant support across all parish ministries, particularly her beautiful contributions to the Choir and Sunday School.

Our sincere gratitude also goes to Hansel and Georgy for their valuable service, energy, and leadership within the Youth Fellowship and Sunday School activities.

Saji Achan and his family have been an incredible blessing to us. Their dedication, enthusiasm, and pastoral care have left an indelible mark on our hearts.

As they prepare for their next chapter, we pray that Almighty God blesses Achan, Ammayi, Hansel, and Georgy abundantly in all their future journeys. Thank you for leading us through a truly golden era! 🙏✨
