24-7 Prayer Australia recently partnered with State Youth Games Victoria State Youth Games to run a prayer tent! Elliott shares his story about how he was invited into the space and how he experienced God’s presence.
 
SYG gathers about 3,000 young people for a weekend of sport and connection - 46 different youth groups from all over Victoria & Tasmania, and, in the middle of all of this, a prayer tent 🙏

This was a space for youth and young adults to be still, to be in God’s presence, to move at their own pace and to encounter Him through various interactive prayer stations.

Questions were asked, burdens were left behind, dreams were stirred, friends joined in, and prayers were prayed. May that which was sparked grow into a flame and spread into the spaces the Lord has for us 🔥

Benj shares how a moment of repentance led him to recognise the need for prayer to be central in his church.

“I was convicted that Jesus’ house is to be a house of prayer... if people were to describe our church I don’t think prayer would have cracked the top ten.”

By starting with 24 hours of non-stop prayer, then 40 hours, Benj recalls how 24-7 Prayer became a helpful, concrete step for his church to take in becoming a house of prayer.

Life to the full... through prayer!

250,000 hours of prayer were recorded in prayer rooms across Australia last year. Each hour marks an individual or group of people carving out time to be present in God’s presence. Carey shares her story of how those hours of dedicated prayer helped her become a person of prayer.

“I’ve discovered life to the full through intercession, prayer and spending time with God in that way.”

Like many of us, Carey reflects that prayer was always something she knew was important but felt she wasn’t good at it. Last year, the Global Week of 24-7 Prayer became a pivotal moment for Carey when her commitment to spending time in the prayer room allowed space for God to reveal her growing heart for intercession and prayer.

Last year, over 220 churches across Australia ran a 24-7 Prayer Room. One of these was Rivers Church of Christ near Brisbane. Tim shares that for a week of prayer they turned their boardroom into a Prayer Room - and never changed it back! This change became a cultural one as the church shifted their leadership focus from a business approach to hearing and discerning God’s voice and guidance for their community.

“Our leadership group has really transformed in a lot of ways to be much more of a discernment group where we’re seeking to hear what God’s saying and then taking steps in what he’s saying to do.”

For the Global Week of 24-7 Prayer in 2025, 24-7 Prayer Australia partnered with St Paul’s Cathedral in Melbourne to set-up Prayer Spaces throughout the cathedral.

The week was so impactful that we began to dream:

What might it look like if cathedrals all across Australia (and the world) created similar spaces - welcoming all who enter to encounter God’s presence and to carry His heart for transformation into our cities and nation?

So, we’ve created a resource pack as an invitation and a prompt to consider how more cathedrals and churches in the heart of cities might join in the Global Week of 24-7 Prayer in 2026. Would you join us?

24-7 Prayer Australia has been established as a Planting of the Lord.

We have seen the re-digging of wells, board rooms turned into prayer rooms and God’s presence call individuals and communities into becoming people of prayer.

Now, we’re looking for Planting Partners to help grow this movement across our nation, planting deep into the river of God’s presence.

You may already partner with 24-7 Prayer globally or through the Lectio 365 App, if so, thank you – you are helping to grow prayer across the world! But equally, if you share our vision for seeing renewal through prayer here in Australia, we’d love to invite you to become a Planting Partner, as together we unite in prayer, mission and justice.

Throughout June we’ll be sharing a series of stories – a taste of what we’ve seen God is doing across our nation. We’re joyfully expectant that there’s more to come and invite you to partner with us.
