We believe prayer is powerful. Through it, we respond to God’s great invitation for deeper relationship with Him, and in it, God also transforms us to better reflect His compassion, mercy and love to the world around us.

This week, please join us in prayer for Teachers, Healthcare workers, and people working and volunteering in emergency services across Melbourne.

People serving in these roles make up around 9% of the workforce in Greater Melbourne, caring for us in our hardest and most vulnerable moments.

Lord, thank you for these incredible people. Keep them safe. Help us to show them our appreciation each day, and to honour the sacrifices they make to heal, teach, and keep us safe.

We had an amazing time at the 2025 Melbourne Prayer Breakfast.

As the United body of Christ in Melbourne, may we continue to hold the people of Myanmar in our prayers. And let us demonstrate our commitment to our brothers and sisters through unwavering prayer, advocacy, and giving to help those who have suffered, and those who are suffering.

The Reverends Tim Costello and Kham Khual Hatzaw spoke at the 2025 Melbourne Prayer Breakfast where the crisis in Myanmar was a focus.

It's powerful when a city gathers to pray.

Not just to see change in the city around them - but also to be changed by God's presence. Together, we long to follow (and become more like) the humble, compassionate, generous person we see in Jesus.

Help us, Lord, to practice the unity to which we've been called. In our time of prayer, may your Spirit work within us that we might look more like you.

The sun is not quite up yet, but we sure are because the 2024 Melbourne Prayer Breakfast will kick off in just under an hour. We can't wait to gather with you to pray, worship and eat in the heart of our beautiful city.
