Mary’s Knanaya Catholic Mission Melbourne is established on 24th July 2013 by the Melbourne Arch-Bishop Mar Denis J. Hart exclusively for the Knanaya Catholics in Melbourne in link with the Kottayam Arch-diocese and appointing Fr. And the mission was officially inaugurated on 3rd November 2013 by His Grace Denis J. This Knanaya catholic Mission later acknowledged by Mar Bosco Puthur of St.Thomas S

yromalabar Epharchy of Melbourne and officially announced and inaugurated by the Archbishop of Kottayam Mar Mathew Moolakkattu on 4th October 2015. Mary’s Knanaya Catholic Mission commits to serve the pastoral needs of the Knanaya Catholics in the state of Victoria,in communion with the Syro-Malabar Eparchy of St. Thomas Melbourne and the Archeparchy of Kottayam, especially by providing liturgical services in the Syro-Malabar, offering Religious Education and spiritual formation, organizing pious associations for young and adults, Ministries for all ages, koodarayogams (prayer gathering) to help people to grow spiritually, promoting Knanaya traditions, and developing a spirit of Christian love.

With grateful hearts, we thank Rev. Fr. Abilash Kannampadam for his dedicated and loving service to St Mary’s Knanaya Catholic Parish Melbourne over the past 3 years and 3 months.

Yesterday’s Holy Mass at our Berwick and Fawkner centres was a special and emotional occasion as parishioners from across Melbourne came together to join Acha’s final Mass with us before he begins his new ministry in Brisbane next Sunday.

Thank you, Acha, for your prayers, guidance, leadership, and care for our parish community. Your presence and service have touched many lives, and we are deeply grateful for everything you have done.

Congratulations also to all who received their Safeguarding Training certificates—thank you for your commitment and service to our parish.

Wishing you God’s blessings, good health, and every grace in your new mission in Brisbane. You will always remain in our prayers and hearts. 🙏❤️

With grateful hearts we thank God for a beautiful Pentecost celebration at both our parish centres today. 🙏🕊️

It was a special blessing to gather as one community for Holy Mass and to celebrate the Ezhuthiniruthu (Initiation into Learning) with our children. May the Holy Spirit continue to guide them with wisdom, knowledge, and faith as they begin this beautiful journey of learning.
